I have to second this one. Mythic does not have the vision to make great MMORPGs, but they rather make things small and casual. I even heard that they once said: We are not creating a world, we are creating a game. With that kind of attitute it is no wonder WAR has turned into such an extreme themepark MMORPG. They dont even want to create the feeling of a Warhammer world. Not to mention balancing. Game been out for what, 9 months? And patch 1.3 has fundamentally changed how combat damage works and put everything on its head which will lead to months of balancing to sort out. And all that just because some AoE was OP? No, Mythic are not nearly competent enough to be compared to companies like Blizzard. |

And this is the core problem of all those so called mmorpg makers. We will see what Bioware brings, but unless you are after a typical personal interest Lore (like Star Trek for me) and just know you'll have a limited quality game, .... just stop buying those duds... Hyping and buying underdevelopped crap is not helping anything.... or we will get a LOT more War's, AoC and DF's....

They hinted Chaos toons would be something you could work towards.. Player Races Game basically used the Warhammer Fantasy Role Playing rules

Like as a themepark it's a high quality MMO? |

There hasn't been a first rate sandbox game on the market for players to really try... or at least, a sandbox offering from a top tier company. The first 2 generations of MMO players have more or less been handheld to the point of losing any reason to use their imaginations or innovative sides. I realize that there were a few games early on that were more thinker-friendly, but as companies chased high-customer counts they went further and further away from 'open' and the reigns were taken out of the players/customers hands in their gaming world. We pay monthly fee's to ride on rails.

You bring up a nice list of sandbox games. Funny, if they are so great, why doesn't the OP support it rather than waste his time and money on WAR? |
