yeah, i am a bit mouthy, was banned before cause 1 of the rat staff didn't like my smart mouth. (I was being a little lippy then, but nothing outside of normal mmo chat) got a 2 day ban, so cancelled sub and started a new one, lol, got 6 weeks free! so today, some guy was trying to recruit for his new squad...the CRS member (JOKER) told him no no...i disagreed and said get over it, i didn't swear, just laughed..i got banned for 99 days... so, being a smart arse i promptly created a new hotmail account and logged in and hung it him (i called myself after JOKER), didn't swear or get abusive and he promptly banned me again. This could be a freakin great game but the CRS staff are just like a bunch of little nazi's. this game will never progress until the rat staff lose their god complex...face facts guys..people playing mmo's mouth off, generally it is a laugh..get over it..we are not sitting at your dinner table with your mommy... roll on a mmofps where you are allowed to play...and JOKER, find a turnip and put it in your largest orfice (see, good joke) and now JOKER, i'm gonna have to reset my IP address, obviously not a 10 minute job, but i will do it within 24 hours, be back playing...so you have won what? maybe twiddly winks is great for you (see, another joke..not nasty)

he won more sub money. How many times have you had to re-sub? each time its going straight into the company's account.
Also it sounds like you deserved the first one. Originally posted by Cyborg99 |

actually, my first ban was, in a world-war-II game with a language filter, and I was playing german and i typed 'nazi'. Now at this stage I still had language filter on so everytime i typed nazi i got like %@?< coming up..so i kept trying it - but it was a WWII game and we are playing germans, i.e. nazi's. so some rat staff member got the pip, i educated him a little on the history of WWII and got banned, funny really, just the same thing as the nazi's would do? trust me, i am lippy but nothing i have said is even close to general chat on any other mmo, i.e. WoW etc

dang, the money thing? $14.99, i make like $50 per hour...whOOp, $14.99 is like what I pay a girl to iron my shirt....i just a game junkie at nights P.S. is it true that WoW is responsible for more people failing tertiary study than ever before?

This will always be a problem, the issue here is do they ban 1 person and loose that subscription OR leave them in and loose 10 other people they ahve offended ? Some moderators will be harsher than others if you read the small print it will have somthing in there regarding this either way if you keep circumventing their systems to ban you then you will be repeatadly banned. personally if they ban you then they dont want your money dont subscribe and leave it there. |

if you read original post, nobody else was offended..it was (once again) a RAT staff member thinking they owned and couldn't handle anyone disagreeing with them. As i say, played enough mmo to know that some extremely nasty stuff can get posted, this was never like that, it was clean, it was just that I disagreed with him...kinda makes me think of arguing with a teacher...i think it would be called a 'i-had-my-lunch-pinched-at-school-but-now-i-have-authority-so-look-out' thing THe (teehee) disagreement waqs because someguy was posting wanting people to join his squad..then again, maybe Mr., Joker has a different side to the story, but I have heard the same before from other players...and shame, could be a great game

I would just report the staff member explained the situation and then either they will fix it or the game will go under because you wont be the first and wont be the last person. Reminds me of the eve online and staff members giving their corps massive bonuses. |

I tried world war II online about 3 weeks ago, I played it for about 4 hours, and said to myself, OMG this game sucks, and you know combat arms is way better, due to the fact of the way everything is played out and all. It just dont feel like the real world war |

The way you sound, my hats are off to them. Like you said, you are a smart arse ...you should be used to some form of treatment like this by people who don't have to put up with it. Or is it that you feel they do have to put up with it because they are beneath you? Sounds like there is probably a little more to it and your mouth is probably just the start. Too bad they didn't do this in Wow, the community might actually be decent. Popuulation may have dipped but maybe people would have gotten a clue .... |

Now I realise that may seem like an insult so maybe I have emotional issues too :P When you play an online game you submit to a games code of conduct, not your own. So if your banned you have broken their rules, especially if its conduct. If you are banned due to some exploit or something like that you can get upset if yuo didn't know it was, but conduct is always something you have to blame yourself for. Resetting IP's and attacking whoever it was and resubbing does sound very much like your someone that doesn't care about how you act. Good luck :) |

Seems you are little to persistant in stirring up the GM Nasties. You should take a break as it really accomplishes nothing. The Rats would rather have 20 players that worship them than 20,000 that ask for something better. Most of the GM's are on power trips thinking that they are Gods gift to the gaming world to prevent teenagers from hearing the four letter words of ill repute. It is a Mature rated game meaning nobody under 17 should be playing it if the adults are concerned and caring. Yet, so many overbearing GM parent types allow their children to shoot an avatart with a pistol in back of the head and glee that they have killed their first in game player. The Rats even violate ESRB guidelines by using 11 year old girls to advertise for the game that they killed some other player in the M rated game. |

Oh no! Someone actually made you accountable for actions that were in violation of rules the you agreed to when you signed up? MONSTERS!!!! |

Nazi..is banned in Germany and any derivation and for CRS to be able to sell accounts to the very people who like to play Germans they must in fact obey German Law. Regardless of your history, this is reality. You know "nazi" is a bannable offense and you did it anyway. You know that is why no swastika is on any german vehicle, because it is banned by German Law and for the same reason that CRS wants to sell accounts in Germany they obey their law. How many times must you be told? |

You were banned by GMs who are NOT CRS staff, they dont get paid or develop the game. CRS staff are pretty cool from my experience. They once refunded me my money when i forgot to unsub from trial aacount so they charged me for subscription. No company EVER would refund me like that when I was in the wrong.
Also, there is a way to remove your ban legaly, but I dont think other players would want you back based on things you wrote here. |

Sorry, Toonttm. I tried to be impressed. Really, I did. It just didn't happen. Got more of a "rebel without a clue" vibe out of this. |

hmm, things you learn in forums, didn't know the moderators weren't CRS staff. Made that assumption as they have a rat symbol in game and their names are used on the official web site. Re the use of nazi in game. Didn't realise that broke the TOS and still surprised it does. As I say, when I first typed it in the language filter changed it...I kept on typing it trying to work out why (and what other words were banned - does anyone actually read the TOS?). I also was not using it in a derogatory manner..I was playing german. As for in game, I have had enough squad invites to know that at least some of the community find my statements quite funny and get a good laugh. Not out to insult anyone and I certainly accept people having a 'dig' back at me, if you put it out be prepared to accept it back. But guess I will try and learn something from this experience in what ever I play next and try and hold my quips, guess I shouldn't give up my day job and become a comedian? maybe just stick to being a clown? Guess what gets me in the end was that I was actually getting good at this game, starting to stay on a mission for over an hour and picking up plenty of kills in the process.

i do continue to read this post and update it because I am honestly very interested in what others say. Great thing about mmo is so many people from so many places. I have played games all my life, and came and left at times, but it always makes me laugh when people disregard (whoop, spelling again) anything someone says by calling them a 12 year old. As far as Nazi goes in Germany, didn't the great Tom Cruise just film a movie there using Nazi symbology (still can't spell)? and Iceman didn't show up? (Goose didn't turn up cause he died, boohoo, great balls of fire?) (go see youetube: hitler plays darkfall for a laugh) And back to this game..it could be freakin great! I started playing games on a home built Z80 (8080 to USA i think), and when I see that Microsoft Train Sim has sold 1 million units I'm thinking why hasn't WWII online got those sales? - I swear I'm gonna build a bus driving sim! I honestly do believe these guys have a great game (once you learn to accept the realistic running around time), but they are so preocuupied with defending anything negative to the (spelling moment coming up) detriment of the game as a whole. Maybe their servers would struggle to handle large numbers so they don't advertise? maybe the technology will come where they can play more than 120? players on screen? Serious, this game could rank up there in history with (dear i say it) Defender? And as for how 12 year olds make money? don't know but as a person who has a job I do quite well, and CRS using that little girl as an ad? I laughed my arse off, that was pretty damn funny..just wish I could shoot so good! :) 2 kills first day on the job! dang, made me blush...lol

Thats a far more reasoned and intellegent comment :) I'll retract any 12 year old reference :P The reason why I mentioned 12 year olds is that is generally how pre-teen or early teens act. Someone doesn't like me so I'll pester and destroy them. The problem with the internet is that people act in away (hopefully) that they don't act in real life. Would you square up to a bouncer in a club because you were ill on the sofa and they threw you out? Or would you tell a librarian to go book herself because you decided that day you would rip up a few of the books you didn't quite like.. These are the kinds of acts people do online but don't realise it. On WWIIO I tried to play it once but couldn't get it to work :( |

On WWIIO I tried to play it once but couldn't get it to work :( As a matter of public law, the post-war German law codes prohibit the display of a swastika in any form or fashion, even if used satirically or as part of an anti-Nazi political statement. Those movies you speak about either have the symbol removed/shot cut etc. for showing in Germany or do not show there.
As far as - On WWIIO I tried to play it once but couldn't get it to work :(
Well that is one of the basic problems with the game. Players constantly need to tweak their computers to get optimum play. While this may be acceptable for visual effects it is not for FPS or simply getting into the game. Many time after a major patch I would find myself looking for a tweak in the forums to make the game more stable or to get into the game at all. Since day one this has been a major problem with this dev group continually making excuses about oh it is so complicated that you fix one thing and break another. Once the patch deleted important Windows files if the directories were not preset into the game. The devs forgot to code a check for a certain folder and if it was not present Windows just deleted files in your main windows directory forcming many unhappy customers to reformat their entire drive. That asside though the game was continually made more and more enjoyable with more and more variation in what you could do. If you got tired of shooting guys on the ground you could bomb them. If you got tired of that you bomb factories. If you got tiered of that you could even do a little navy action with limits. The limits of the naval factor is probably one of the most dissappointing factors in this game. In the Air or on the Ground the you can play both local single person action and join the Hight Command (HC) to be on the strategic side. You can either provide manual supply or you can move forces to try to out manuver the enemy High Command (HC). For the navy something that was very active in English and North Sea during this phase of the war there has been no developement. The Devs have taking the view that a Naval game can provide no benifit. Personally I believe they are dead wrong and have given up on the opportunity that would add a very deep variation in the game that would make the game rival EVE ONLINE in player numbers. Naval Wargamming has a huge huge following and always sells well in stores yet this game has put in an eclectic development effort that has no linking factors to the real effort or even real WWII naval vehicle physics. Basically they have no interest

Dude, Very simply put DON'T BE A SMART ASS! no one wants to play with one! and usually you get your mouth smacked! You don't make the game fun for anyone! You got what you deserve. stop being a greifer. and maybe...just maybe you will get some friends. doubt it though. |

The Server is suppose to be able to handle 10k players no zone. ONe reason they dont advertise is money, they adviertise in a ww2 magazine but major mags cost more money than they have. No one will do reviews if done once..unless you are WOW, then the mags fall all over themselves reviewing. WW2OL suffers from the bad lanch like PCs suffer from the 80s crashing in Mac commercials. |

Originally posted by hardcase For 10 years they have the same excuses. Maybe it is time that some of the fanbois realize that it will never be anything of consequence. It is very very close to Warbirds that took almost 9 years to get to Warbirds 2.0 which was not very much better. Aces High that has tried to mimic WWII Online ever since launch. The Warbirds backgound has created that business model. The dev team is full of more people doing player relations and production than programmers.
The unfortunate part it is still the only WWII wargame on the net. It's ability to carve out that niche market has been notable. Maybe someday people will tire of the click shoot a rat type dungeons and dragons thing and decide that Wargamming is more interesting.
(Having tried the star war galaxy and eve online free trials I am astounded how simple minded and incredibly mundane online gamers must be. Despite my conflict with the slowness of developement in this game for whatever reason the most complex and thouroughly tactical and strategic wargame every developed has to be WWII Online.) |

Don't play mmo to make friends, lol - play to outwit and kill people, nice use of CAPS...do you have anger issues? (lol, i just read your byline, "that which doesn't kill us will make us stronger"? maybe you need a new tag?) Re: swastika etc in Germany. The movie (Valkryie?) wth Tom Cruise was filmed mainly in Germany, and buildings, vehicles etc were adorned with the swastika etc. I believe there was even la number of swastika adorned planes flying over some part of Germany. Obvioulsy the movie was released there with posters etc showing the swastika. The Germans did get upset at the movie, but over Tom Cruise's involvement in Scientology, not the swastika thing.
