So currently I have the free trial being downloaded and I was wondering a few things.

First, I would like to know what are some good classes currently? I just got out of playing Age of Conan and Warhammer and I know some people will say its all dependent upon play style but I just want some honest opinions and preferably some explanation to why that class is good.

Another thing is about PVP. I love raiding and doing alot of PVE material, but I also enjoy having the option to pvp whenever I want. I do not fully understand their PVP system and if anyone could deeply elaborate on exactly what it is like it would be greatly appreciated. I do NOT want to play a game where there is absolutely no PVP available, ever. I could manage with minimal pvp every now and then.

Well as many will say, any class can work, but for beginners id recommend the champion, he wears the highest class of armor and is a solid aoe melee fighter, pretty easy to just pick up and play.

Wolfenpride: <--Giant fucking sword syndrome.

Probably cause im trying to compensate for miniscule manhood.

It really does depend on your play style, but to get your feet wet in LotRO, I'd suggest either a champ, runekeeper or hunter. If you're looking for more challenging play, try a loremaster or captain. For a real challenge, try a warden.

LotRO's PvP (or PvMP) is getting better, but still not up to snuff compared to games like WoW or WAR. To PvMP you can either use your higher level toon (freep) or create a monster player (creep). If you create a monster player, you can choose one of several classes to play. There's one PvMP zone called Ettenmoors. You complete quests as a monster player similar to how you would with your normal toon, but instead of XP or money, you gain destiny and infamy points which can be used to train your creep.

Here's a link to good explanation of LotRO PvMP:

Current: None
Played: WoW, CoX, SWG, LotRO, EVE, AoC, VG, CO, Ryzom, DF, WAR
Tried: Lineage2, Dofus, EQ2, CoS, FE, UO, Wurm, Wakfu

I recommend taking your time and rolling two more characters to start and playing them up to level 10-20. I say this because it feels like to me that LOTRO classes are truly dependent on your playstyle.

Me personally I played a champion for quite some time and have been pretty bored with it - it gave me a somewhat negative impression of the game though I've stuck with it. And guess what? A few months back I rolled a Lore Master and have never looked back - my LM has me coming back for more again and again. Where before I could fall asleep playing, now I have to force myself to quit or I won't get any sleep at all.

If you want to stick with one character I say play your first choice to about level 20 and if it doesn't catch you, try another class without looking back at the old one. Keep going until you find the perfect match, and you will have a blast in this game.
