Most of you all forget one little MMO, the worst MMorpg.... Dark and light, in terms of land mass, its the biggest land mass in any MMorpg, next to that WWII mmo.

What he says.  At 15,000 square miles, Dark & Light is the winner:  www.gamershell.com/companies/farlan_entertainment/227751.html

Fact!!  WW2Online  is the largest game ever made. It takes 6 hours of auto pilot on a jet in that game and you will only be half way across that world !

I asked abou this on the anarchy online forums.....

firstly, the original maunal stated about the old rubi ka zones that

"Did you know:
That the settled and accessible areas of Rubi-ka today cover more than 375 thousand square meters, plus an unlimited amount of space indoors? it's a big, big world."

that said, someone took it a set further....

"What being bored can make someone do...

I tried to make an educated guess based on the following estimations/assumptions:
- The height of an atrox guard in NLC is 2 meters (I remember the height of an average atrox being mentioned in some "canon" source but I couldn't remember where so this may be off to begin with).
- This makes the height of one of my chars to be about 1.65 when compared to said guard by standing right next to one.
- When a character is in crawl, his "length" from head to toe along the stretched out leg is roughly equal to his height.
- By comparing the length of this char in crawling to the width of the bridge leading to the Phasefront platform, it came out as 5 meters.
- The width of the same bridge on the AORK map is 1 pixel (aliasing effects aside).
- Comparing this 5m per pixel ratio to other landmarks in similar manner checked out quite accurately.

Based on this ratio, by measuring the pixel dimensions of the zones on the AORK map then doing the math, the size of the zones is as follows:

Avalon: 2900m x 4000m, 11.6 km2
Athen Shire: 1550m x 1850m, 2.87 km2
Wailing Wastes: 2500m x 3500m, 8.75 km2
Coast of Peace + Coast of Tranquillity: 4850m x 2000m, 9.7 km2
Mort: 3325m x 3425m, 11.39 km2
Newland + Newland Desert: 3350m x 2725m, 9.13 km2
(Newland: 1525m x 1025m, 1.56 km2)
Perpetual Wastelands: 3750m x 3100m, 11.62 km2
Aegean: 2100m x 2600m, 5.46 km2
Central Artery Valley: 3200m x 2900m, 9.28 km2
Deep Artery Valley: 3000m x 3650m + 175m x 1700m, 11.25 km2
Varmint Woods: 4000m x 2850m, 11.4 km2
Belial Forest: 3025m x 3025m + 150m x 1100m, 9.31 km2
South Artery Valley: 3125m x 2775m, 8.67 km2
Souther Fouls Hills: 2525m x 3025m, 7.64 km2
Eastern Fouls Plains: 2575m x 3850m , 9.91 km2
Milky Way: 4050m x2375m + 575m x 1925m, 10.73 km2
Pleasant Meadows: 3000m x 2500m, 7.5 km2
Stret East Bank: 1875m x 2850m, 5.34 km2
Tir County + Greater Tir County: 3075m x 2925m, 9 km2
Upper Stret East Bank: 1875m x 2800m, 5.25 km2
Andromeda: 3500m x 2500m + 975m x 1650m, 10.35 km2
Broken Shores: 2150m x 3425m + 1100m x 1450m, 8.96 km2
Clondyke: 1875m x 4050m + 750m x 1625m, 8.82 km2
Galway County + Galway Shire: 2675m x 2600m, 6.95 km2
Lush Fields: 3350m x 3375m, 11.3 km2
Omni Forest + Greater Omni Forest: 2100m x 3025m, 6.35 km2
4 Holes: 1900m x 2275m, 4.32 km2
Stret West Bank + Holes in the Wall: 2375m x 2900m + 1500m x 225m, 7.23 km2
The Longest Road: 4000m x 1500m, 6 km2
Borealis: 875m x 950m, 0.83 km2

Total: 246.91 km2

Notes:
- Measured as rectangular areas encompassing the zone and all subzones within (such as Mutant Domain being inside Lush Fields).
- Zones with irregular shapes were measured by covering them with several (usually two was enough) rectangular areas then adding them up; these are the zones where you see two width x height values.

Since the distances, just as the rate of the passing of time (which seems to be a few times as fast as real time), in the game should be considered as an "abstraction" of the sort, these values should be multiplied by maybe 3-4 to get the actual distances and sizes they are representing; at least this is how I'd tend to interpret them."

Games i'm playing right now...
