It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all outta gum. |
http://www.swtor.com/info/holonet/classes According to that link there are 8 classes in total, 4 Republic and 4 Sith. We know 3 of the Republic (Jedi, Trooper, Smuggler) according to this link http://e3.gamespot.com/story/6210545/star-wars-the-old-republic-exclusive-qanda-the-smuggler-profession-and-e3-2009 you can find that Smuggler is Republic preferring; and 2 Sith (Sith Jedi, Bounty Hunter) So what in the world could the other 3 classes be??

Haven't seen any mention of a healing class yet so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. www.agonysend.org |

2 healers (i assume) and a trooper style class for the Sith.
That is my logical go by all the other games sort of guess but i hope they try something different. MMO wish list: -Changeable worlds |

Yeah was thinking the same thing. Sith probably get a Commando type of toon (unless BH is their Commando type toon) and some sort of Healer on each side. |

Droids! At least, I hope so. I don't imagine droid will be a playable race .. droid jedis seem a bit far-fetched. But something relying on electronic trickery and the like would be interesting. |

Droid jedi's may be out of reach, but they could add those droid robots with polearms like from the Star Wars Animated Clone Wars. That would be neat. |

Ideally there will be a "force adept" class, encompassing any of a number of people with force powers that were not brought up as a "Jedi". They would have a different focus, maybe less strict training, but would not be bound by a strict code to follow. |

officially speaking, they haven't released the jedi/sith classes. they may be having more than one type of jedi/sith similar to the kotor games.

Hmmm I was hoping for more classes. Well, lets hope these eight don't mirror each other, eight classes is bad enough, four classes and I wouldn't even bother.

It would even be better if Jedi and its "evil" counter part, the Sith, were not classes that you choose and more like Special Secondary classes that when you meet the necessary requirement you can become one. Of course to stop a flood of Jedi/Sith the requirements could be hard or nearly impossible, time consuming, grindy like hell, need many super mega omega rare unique uncommon items, and then an extremely SOLO type quest. ohh and make it so the items and stuff require is Soul Bound to the character(not account wide) so no trading.
Yeah I know it sounds ridiculous and maybe stupid for some but that way we know that atleast that Jedi/Sith player you saw walking past you is a really really very really stupidly good player. |

Originally posted by Flex1 SWG tried it and although it was fun for some of us, the instant-grat crowd screamed bloody murder til SOE changed it. A lot of people want to be able to jump in and go straight for the Jedi class so I doubt BW will even try it. www.agonysend.org |

Dunno. If this was SOE making it, the next three classes would be Gungan Warrior ( with a picture of Jar Jar ), Ewok Warrior ( with a picture of an Ewok ), and Pod Racer ( with a picture of young Anakin). -Letting Derek Smart work on your game is like letting Osama bin Laden work in the White House. Although apparently droids can use lightsabers. The IG-110 Lightsaber Droid was created by the Separatists to deal with the growing involvement of the Jedi during the Clone Wars. They were based heavily on the design of the MagnaGuards, and proved effective in dealing with the lightsaber-wielding Jedi. Their programming was created from thousands of hours of of holorecordings of Jedi in combat. The IG-110 would wield two lightsabers, which used Synthetic lightsaber crystals. -Letting Derek Smart work on your game is like letting Osama bin Laden work in the White House. Oh god... I can't believe I'm about to do this.
Ahem. General Grievous was not a jedi or even force sensitive as far as I can tell. He was merely trained in the art of lightsaber combat by Count Dooku.
I think Darth Vader would have been a better example. He also had much, if not most of his body replaced by machinery and was very very force sensitive.
I'm so ashamed of myself. |

Aww crap, I thought it was eight for every side. I just hope the make really a lot of branch out subclasses, skill trees and stuff to follow individual pathways. Just 4 classes and then cookiee cutters all over, seeing millions of Jedi/Smugglers/Troopers all the same as you would be a letdown. But then, I understand given the fact they want stories for EVERY class they cant make so many right away. Still a bit a letdown.

Maybe they will do something similar to talent tree? so each class is really like 3 or four actual classes. They already said smugglers can have a crazy amount of weapons maybe through specialization they could play almost like a totally different class. If they have 8 classes with 3-4 specs that are totally different playstyles then ill be happy. In reality that would give you 24-30 options altogether so that isnt bad. Hell i;ve been known to level two of the same class just to play one as Dps and the other as support lol. Yes my altitus is terrible in themeparks :( Playing: EvE, Ryzom |
