Yeah cant believe I decided to have some more sleep this morning,seems I missed the EU keys by about 10 mins,if only I didnt phone the Mrs and feed the cat I would have made it :P

Ahh well hopefully just this 1 I am missing and everything goes fine when the pre-order's start next Tuesday.

It may not be possible to get more keys since they may need to keep a limit on the amount of testers for server load reasons, etc.

Yes i do receive them, they dont go in my spam, and they havent for years. One thing is i will probably receive this email sometimes tomorow....

 

It never did bother me before, guess now it does....

 

 

If you use any of the "Free" mail providers like Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc you will definately see major delays.  These guys all have anti-spam policies in place that will not allow one source (like our mail server) to send more than xxx emails per hour.  After this limit they reject us and our mail server sets a retry timer (usually 1 hour later, then 4 hours, then 8, etc).  Unless you pay the extortion fees from these guys (some as high as like $20,000 per year) they won't let you around this.
 

If you are not already, I encourage you to use an email from your ISP or good source.  Sadly all the anti-spam measures are making emailing people harder every year.

Sorry this part I did have a laugh at,around the web on other gaming forums people were saying they were setting up an account here and other's panicing waiting for the account confirmation email so they could get a key,I think alot of "faithful" user's missed out because of this,never mind I am just hoping for a good announcement come the 9th for pre-order's in the EU for all the other event's.

I have been waiting so long to try this game and here I missed it lol. I want to just see how it is really, if anyone has an extra key I would greatly appreciate it. If not I guess i have to wait and see. :(

However, I pre-ordered and I still havnt recieved my beta key from gamestop.  When I do though, I'll be giving it to someone in the Aion forum who has been following the game for a while and is without a key.

I would love to pre-order it.... but most shops in my country (The Netherlands) dont have it for pre-order. The ones that do dont offer a beta key with it

Check those site's again after the 9th of June when they will be updated with the pre-order package.

You have a great point here.  I always felt that there should be a 30 day waiting period between setting up an account and being able to participate in any of the contests here.

Oh well... *shrugs*

Only got the email 2 hours ago but by then it looks like all the keys were gone.

Time to unsubscribe to general game alerts and resubscribe to RSS?

meh... they should have made it so they give like 500 keys every hour instead of all 5000 at once.

It was based on the country you have in your MMORPG.com profile - you have something like United Arab Emirates.

Thats the speed am getting and seems to be the general speeds that people are reporting, a few people have report 1Mb+ tho.

I have been downloading for just over 6 hours now I think and its at 33% so it should be done for the weekend :-)

It downloaded @ 1.7Mbps on my side... I'm ready to go (hope you'll be finished before saturday...)

Another fail by MMORPG.

Well my PC just crashed and I was a bit annoyed at the thought of maybe having to restart the download to say the least.

When I restarted the launcher the game did start again at 0% But this time the game is downloading at 1.3Mb a sec which is so much better and has just over 60mins for it to be complete instead of the 60Kb/900mins before, result! :D

Guess we had to be in the right place at the right time for this one. :(  I didn't get my email until this morning.

Yes it's completely unthinkable that one of, if not the most anticipated MMO of the year would have closed beta keys snatched up like hot cakes. Stop pissing on MMORPG because you didn't get a key.

I always make sure to check my email at night in case of giveaways like this. My husband will now be able to play Aion this weekend along with me :-D He got his around 2,200 left.

Indeed,word of the mmorpg.com giveaway spread over the net like wild fire,there is even a timeline(of sorts) on aion source of the keys being given away and how many were left....missed it by 10 mins.
