Last I checked games were meant to be less like sweat shops that you have to pay for and more like uhhh........ ya almost forgot what that word was that described entertainment....I'm pretty sure they call it fun which Eve grossly falls short of in several separate categories .

Of course if you played JGE after playing Eve you might bust a nut and/or have enough fun in an hour with just playing in a twitch skill based mmo to be satisfied enough to spend some quality time with your family in stead of sitting in 0.0 making sure your station is safe or grinding out stupid agent missions in a point and click hellish repetition nightmare. Ya that's what I call clinical insanity not rip-roaring fun. Guess you guys aren't as smart as you claim O wait your smart enough to come and check out JGE so maybe there is a glimmer of perceptive power left in your pea brains rattling around in your humongous heads. Hmm, I don't think JGE wil be something for me, I haven't done alot of research yet, but I believe I read somewhere that the servers will be pretty small.

It looked interesting at 1st tho, cause it was based on the original jumpgate, but now it seems more like an arcade space combat game, not an mmorpg.

it's a bit like with planetside, I really liked the game, but it did not last long cause it did not have much depth.

That was a half way kinda almost not quiet a good dig against JGE.

Ouch small sever. That is true it does have a smaller population than Eve's 1server but that doesn't mean it can't be more fun than Eve. ND could not make JGE as boring as Eve even if they tried. Even if the whole dev team never new what a  flight engine was they could make JGE more fun than the painful drudgery of Eve.

And yes it is an action twitch-skill-based space flight simulator mmo, so what is your point again? I mean does planet side even come close to the depth of JGE? No. Is JGE made by SOE. No. Actually the day SOE buys this game I will jump ship right along with the rest of the JGE haters.

JGE has plenty of econ to make a fun mmo but the devs have said it is an mmo space flight simulator. Does that mean it is a econ simulator? No. That is not where I want the devs to put their time and attention to. It will not help if the game play sucks but you have an over developed econ. SOE already tried that with SWG.

Need to chill with your EVE hatred OP, OK, the game wasn't for you, doesn't change the fact that many people do and will continue to enjoy it long after JGE is released.

I play EVE, and I'll probably give JGE a try to see if I enjoy it more.  But I won't gnash my teeth over JGE if I don't.

I don't play EVE or JE, but there does seem to be a trend of games who have fans with unnormal amounts of anger and hatred built up inside and how well the game does. I mean look at all the pro darkfall posts before that came ou tand how it chased away people who would have tried it. But ya great post, psycho.

Um apples and oranges?  Really compare and bashing eve to jge?  Different gameplay mechanics and environmental objectives.

If you want to make a comparison, Black Prophecy will blow JGE into a mire of obscurity and mediocrity.  Reakktor knows sci_fi, check out Neocron... 'nuff said.

Pifft .......BP is more instanced than WoW is and does not have the Dancer Engine. BP is a step in the right sci-fi direction though.

this is the deepest inside the booty hole of a game ive ever seen.

Someone lose a faction fitted capitol ship did we? Eve happens to be a fairly good game, if one understands the rule set and is willing to invest the time/effort to gain the skills and experience.

Im sorry to say this but we all know the EvE is a sweet shop, iTs hard work to play that game that is why we do it. EvE players dont want to have fun.. they Want to crush other players and dominate the Universe. FUN never entered CCPs minds when the created EVE. Its not a theme park game.... and THe WoW clones havent done to well so maybe just maybe future Devs need to rethink thier game design.. Jumpgate will fail im sorry but it stands little to no chans of becoming a success

What happens with JGE depends on how the Dev's and players interact.  If they have a fun game, that has lasting appeal, then they will be around for awhile. If it turns into a interstellar gankfest, its likely to have a rather limited life spawn.  As for Themepark games burning in flames...Tell that to Blizzard as they laugh all the way to the bank...

Your wrong about JGE. They already have enough fans of the game to make it a success. Features that are fun just seem well more fun. ND is got the right stuff as well and they know the space mmo theme real well. They got a winner, there is no doubt but the better it does the better sci-fi does. Space mmo's and other kinds of sci-fi games will be more popular as well. Everyone knows that JGE is at least decent and has a finished feel so it can only juice up the other sci-fi titles hype all around when more people see that there is more than fantasy mmo's to enjoy and they will see how fantasy can only do just so much with the tank healer dps formula and that sci-fi can allow more freedom and fun.
