Ok, first off, I would prefer P2P, due to the fact they're usually better. Here are the games I CANNOT play.
And these are games I've tried, and don't like.
And games I can't run.
So, the above are things I won't play. As I said, the minimum graphics card requirement is a problem, so here is my DXDIAG thing.
------------------ --------------- What I look for in an MMORPG:
Or if my computer COMPLETELY sucks, could you recommend me a good graphics card? I'm on about a $70 budget right now. Oh yeah, I'm not asking you to do all my work for me, I've actually looked at dozens of Graphic Cards, but forum tech people say I couldn't use them for whatever reason. So, atleast point me in the right direction.
So, please recommend me a game I may enjoy and can run! I just havn't "clicked" with any game except WoW, which I can't play anymore. |

Well, lets see now. Your computer is kinda slow which cancels of quite a few games. Maybe you should make a free trial of Daoc? Or try AO, it is free if you don't play it with the expansions. You can run EQ2 at low settings but while the PvE is good there the PvP could be better. You can also try City of heroes/villains. And SWG. You should also be able to run Linage 2, it is kinda grindy however. |

Add 2-3 GB or RAM and toss in a cheap GPU on your PC and you'll open up a lot more games too.
Im assuming when you said you want a P2P you meant PVP since P2P is how you download music and stuff. And PVP games aren't nessicarily better, they just get more review because people prefer to "gank" others to make them feel better about themselves.
If you want a good RPG MMO try FFXI (PvE king of MMO's IMO). I was running it on a PC with half the specs you've got about 4 years ago. You should be safe and still get decent frame rates. Since your PC specs are a limiting factor your pretty much not going to run an MMO developed in the last year or two. Devs try to sell to us Uber geeks but making the graphis mind numbingly intensive so they pretty much push you out of the market if you have an outdated PC.
Edit: Forgot to mention you probably don't want to play a PVP game with a PC in your condition since someone with a better setup will have a large advantage, unless you play turn based PVP which is rare. Always add more ram its a good improvement to your pc,and buying a cheap video card from wal-mart should also improve the framerates your games give.I myself have only 1024 gig and it works perfectly for playing WoW (except when you want to play in northerned).

Does your motherboard support AGP or PCIe Videocards? I'm going to assume its PCIe, and if so then I'll suggest this Evga 1gb 9500gt its 70$ off newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130395 With that card you could run every game currently out without much trouble at all. I have other suggestions as well, PM me and we can chat on a messenger sometime if you like.
Have you considered Vanguard? The games made HUGE leaps and bounds since launch, the population now is population is comparable to Everquest 1 in its glory days. You will need the upgraded graphics most likely, VG's graphics are still top of the line. Free Trial here: http://vanguard.station.sony.com/isleofdawn/
My main reasons for loving VG:
-The world is huge, yet still filled with content. -Brotherhoods help keep my girlfriend my level even when she can't play -Seamless world without instances or loading screens! (loading is only done between continents, and when teleporting across the world) -Great social/RP features including; In world housing/player cities, and an appearence tab. -VG is a MULTIPLAYER game. You dont have to group, but yes there are advantages, and the majority of content is focused on player groups. -Amazing graphics: View distance maxed out is simply breathtaking, as well as lighting/shader effects indoors. -Corpse runs and long travel times add risk and force use of caution. -First mount at level 10, and every 10 levels after that. 19 unique racial mounts. Flying mounts end game. -Ships! Sailing the seas in your customized ship is just so epic! Bring friends, they can hang out above or below deck. Or simply park your ship in the harbor and go on an adventure. -Lastly I love VG because the game is still filled with mystery. I've discovered items myself! and players still learn new things all the time. Unlike other modern games where you can look up every quest, item, location, and npc in the game. VG is a world still filled with things to discover. Heres a nice trailer showing off the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p6TrEPSr50

I can run RoM but I cannot run Vanguard worth a crap. I am sure he will not be able to play Vanguard. |

Herkfixer: When I said P2P, I meant Pay To Play. But I suppose it doesn't really matter. I looked into FFXI, and it looks cool, but canyourunit.com said I can't run it. (I don't know if I entirely trust that site, however. It said I couldn't run WoW: BC and I ran it for like 6 months.) I'm really looking into getting a new graphics card, too.
Thanks for the fast replies. I'm going to take a look at that graphic card, and the games you guys suggested. (By the way, I can run Runes of Magic, on lowest settings and still have a lot of lag, just to give you an idea.) |
