As long as they incorporate more user friendly controls, I'll be all over this like a fat kid and a cup cake. That's my only beef with the CoX games. Controls to me didn't make sense. They drove me bat shit insane.-_- |

Having burned myself out on WoW long ago, this is one of a handful of games that I am anxiously waiting to try. CoX was kinda fun, for a while, but it seems like this game will build upon the good aspects of that, while tossing out the rest. |

Given I've played it years ago for about 2-3 months. I thought COH had one of the most intuitive interface and controls out of any mmo... |

Yeah but that was years ago. They've evolved since then.:p |

How so? I'm probably being a bit dense here but I thought they were fully customisable. I certainly didn't keep the default settings for any of the movement controls and changed the locations of all the UI components onscreen. I certainly hope CO has the same level of customisaiton for its controls, or maybe even better. There's nothing worse than being stuck with the developers idea of controlling a game! |

I guess I didn't really give it that well of a shot then. I had such a difficult time with the controls, and it got me so frustrated that I didn't even think about keybinding. I think I had JUST found warcraft back then as well(haven't tried CoX since it practically launched), if I remember right, so I hardly gave it the shot I probably should have. I've stopped playing p2p mmo's atm anyway. I don't have the funds for them anymore right now. Hopefully I will when MO comes out, cuz that and Aion are what I'm looking at. I've started to become more interested in MO though, cuz since I played wow for so long, I'm tired of the theme park games now, and am looking for something like MO. Might get Champions just to mess around with the character creation for a few weeks though.XD |

It depends, is it going to be like Coh where you log on and spend a few hours looking for a good sized party because playing solo or duo gives so much less xp? I liked the whole hero idea but the grouping up ruined it. I never made it to endgame in CoH.

You're still seeing contact - going to kill or rescue - going back to contact. Nothing changes. Personally, I'm getting a bit jaded with the whole MMO thing. Need a rest I think. |

Since they toned down the cel-shading, and made it more, what they call "comic-book" shading, so objects don't look as flat and 2D, yes I am looking forward to it. The look of a game DOES matter to me. I enjoyed CoH, after a few changes they made, but now I want a next-gen super hero game. I am done with high fantasy, so many cool new genres about to be explored in MMO's. Can't wait for all of em! |

Still interested even with the pushed back release date. I might just play this instead of Aion just because it would be my first super-hero type mmo. |

And how exactly was CoH endgame different from any other games endgame? You do the same things you did in the early game that you do in the endgame in every single game that is out. Even WoW, which people claim starts at the level cap is nothing but grinding for more gear, just like the first 69 levels. |

Gamer fanboi. All games are good and/or great, in their own way! Stop da hate and go forth and play! |
I was originally looking forward to this game since I have played, and enjoyed, the RPG in the past, but stopped when it was released how limited their pvp will be in this game. I honestly am quite tired of killing npcs, and prefer to engage in pvp more than anything else after having played mmo's since UO beta. The game does look good graphicwise, and the controls and customization sound fantastic! Hopefully at some point they will add more involved pvp choices into the game. Cheers! |

I was trying to to decide between Champions and DC Universe online, and I think after much research I will try Champions first. It sounds and looks a lot better then DCU. |

I'm very much looking forward to this one. I hope they use the next few months wisely and well finishing it up. |

I'm a beta player in this and while I cannot reveal any information, I'll say I'm buying it. |

If you were to strip every MMO down to the most bare bone basic anatomy...yes you're right. However, you dismiss entirely the journey along the way. Its like saying everything in sex is to just have an orgasm, so what's the big deal about it and why not do something else? Yes, I agree, even with all that content, after a while you are in a grind, but WoW still has managed to hook 11 million people to its game for a reason. CoX failed to hold people's attention for not figuring out what WoW knew quite some time ago and continues to refine and enhance with each patch. I'm not a WoW fanboi by any means, but it has held my sub dollar longer than any other game because it addresses core gameplay features. Now, CO has potential with what I've read so far, but they have a very real need to provide deep content once the leveling is over. Games that do not do that wind up losing subs very quickly, just look at Warhammer. I was nearly rabid about it till I hit the late 30s and then at end game...there was nothing and the main component of it was broken and so poorly thought out that its still not working properly. The Supers genre is a tough one to tackle that way, because at its heart, supers are about personal triumphs and failures, essentially, a soap opera. Thus a reward system once level cap is acheived, has to somehow incorperate that. There has got to be continued progression in some fashion, not just (yawn) influence points but things that continually improve your character's play expierence, with enhanced story lines, enhanced consequences for failure, etc. Ideally I would think they should incorperate a philosophy that there are no do overs, if you fail, you failed...now deal with the consequences of it, something which all MMOs refuse to touch. They'd rather opt for the easy solution of allowing the player to just retry again, but with supers, there is as much rich content for a hero from his failures as his successes, and if the dev's put forth the effort, it can be in a MMO as well. Note I said ideally, I'm realistic enough to realize this is a lot of $$$ to do, but the basic point here is, without a enduring end game content which you can translate to 'just another grind' if you want to, but without progression paths at end game, MMOs fail to do what they're designed to do from the get go, retain subs. All that said, yes, I'm keeping a eye on this game, but I won't hop on it upon release. I've learned my lesson with Warhammer and AoC, give the guys a few months of subs and shaking the tree to see what falls out, because I'm not interested in just leveling a toon and then twiddling my thumbs hoping they'll get off their ass and do something. I need to see proof of this before I even install the game. Money and Sin are a lot alike, the more you got the more you want and you can never have too much. |

After seeing the latest trailer I'm shocked at how good it looks. the flight model looks good, the weapon physics look good, the mission and party set up looks good. This is what I expected from EVE when I first saw it........but we all know eve is WoW in space, not a FPS which is where all the excitement in shooters comes from. I'll definately be buying it if for nothing else than supporting this kind of game. I have high hopes for it. I need a shooter and an MMORPG. I'm hoping it will be BP and FFXIV. crosses fingers. |

Sorry as much as I really want to like this game it won't take me from COH/COV. I never feel heroic. And plus most of the people i Know won't leave COH for this, just not a fun game, seems like WOW in tights to me. Just my 2 cents. |

i will also wait for 3-4 months before ordering this game. cuz i have fears about it to be ghostowns. so wait would be better .i have already wasted so much money on games which later on losts customers. so i will make a decision on you guys feedback:D

I know it looks cool, but it still isn't fun to me. COH/COV seems much more fast paced to me, and for a person who can only play for a few hours at night and maybe a little more during the weekends it suits my taste a little more, just like the people I play with. |

not to argue with you or anything.but cryptic has stated that this game will be alike for casual gamers .if they play less they can in champions online and still dont feel left behind. but its only from the company thats making it .we cannot know it until nda is lifted and beta testers can tell us if it is true or not:P |

That is fair enough and I hope you continue to enjoy CoX for a long time. I do object to CO being called WoW in tights because they really are nothing alike. |
