Aion will do fine. They just need to put in more quests and up the xp reward to make the leveling easier for the casual westerners |

Yes, it shouldnt be hard for a game with as many pros as Aion has to do well in NA/EU if NC Soft wants it to. WOOT |

we all know asian companies make better video games, final fantasy, street fighter , metal gear solid and zelda to name a few. Asian game development companies just make better video games, and that will translate into the mmo genre in the next few years. |

That depends on the context, we all know the earth rotates arounds the sun, but very soon, the world will realize that Asian developers make the best mmorpgs : ) |

No asian developers don't make the best mmorpgs they do however know how to put together some of the finest consol rpg's. Also 3.5 subs in asia is probably around 2mil real if you take into account the gold farmers and multi boxers. However, That is still a great start. |

Well the least we can say about this is that WoW is getting some really heavy competition in Asia, and it is very likely to become bigger than WoW in Asia, I mean 3,5 million subs in 6 months? Asian mmorpg's do have higher numbers generally, but 3,5 million is ALOT, Lineage 1 and 2 topped at 2 million each I believe, and they were the biggest before WoW. The question is, are the subs comming from games like Lineage and Final Fantasy or are they comming from WoW or is the mmorpg market in asia expanding bigtime? Either way, Aion is already a fenomenon like WoW, and I didn't see it comming :p

About the legitimacy of the subscription numbers, well they are at least as legitimate as the WoW numbers. WoW has around 6 million subs in Asia, so 6 mill in what, 2 years? vs 3,5 mill in 6 months ... It is clear that this will become tha battle of the titans !

That's awsome to hear. WoW was never my MMO, I played it and liked it, but I had only first heard of it during it's televised beta on G4, then my friends pushed me into it. With aion, atleast i've kept tabs on it since it's first 2006 video was released. So in a way I think I chose the right one to follow (=

i dont believe any subscriber numbers any company dishes out. i see it as an estimate. I can't understand why its so hard for people to READ and UNDERSTAND what they read. |

I do not think it will surpass World of Warcraft, though I hope it does since WOW has become rather stagnate when it comes to solo players. I would assume at least 1 million to 1.5 million subscriptions in the United States. Problem that most games do not get enough subscriptions to overtake World of Warcraft is most of them really do not advertise on tv and online which is where most people who would play these games would learn about them. Every time you turn around you see another World of Warcraft commercial, so the other companies need to follow suit. |
