More time to work on it could be good. Even though I was hoping to play this to tide me over until Star Trek Online.

I applaud the decision. Let's hope devs around the world has learned a thing or two with AoC and WAR.

Saw this coming a few weeks ago just with the slow information trickling out to the community and lack of Beta news. Overall good decision not to release a unfinished product because your customers would have called ND out on the unfinished product and you would have paid for it in the end. That's why my copy of AoC sits in a drawer now in my desk.

Only thing that could be bad about this is the competition factor of releasing a few months from now. Because Black Prophecy and Star Trek Online will be getting real close to releasing and might take a lot of the wind out of any JGE release hype. And of course you always have EVE which will be around awhile.
