OK, my main question is how this differs from COH?

No archetypes. Just pick powers. Changing Power Graphics to fit you. Creating your own Arch Nemesis to play against in the story. It's basically CoH 2. More of the good stuff, and the good stuff is better.
That's what I've gathered. I just wish it had Cops'n'Robbers pvp. |

Yeah, I don't know much about the game but I know enough to say the first thing that jumps out to me as different is certainly the art style. ----------------------------- |

The only difference between a Troll and a Fanboi is which side of the fence they stand on. |
it's more action oriented then CoH... I find myself playing with a controller more and more. Tons more skills and travel powers to learn too. I use flight, but they've got all sorts in there that I'd want to try in general. there are even missions that are hard to get to if you don't have a height based travel power. Rooftop missions and the like. Stages are far larger then CoH... and from what I've gathered far less instanced. - CaesarsGhost Lead Gameplay and Gameworld Designer for a yet unnamed MMO Title. |

By far the largest difference when actually playing Champions is the combat system. It's really, really entertaining and not nearly as "late-blooming" as City. Other than that it's mostly just taking the things that worked in City and making them better, dropping the things that didn't work, and adding a few new systems. Most notable changes are the way power selection and roles work, and the way questing works (you are going to spend far more time outside of instances in Champions - questing feels more like WoW than City). |

As much as I liked CoH, I loathed the boring, repetitive missons, offices and halls all the same over and over and over. I really hope the quests and missions are more diverse and intzeresting. One of my mayor gripes with CoH I hope CO makes better. |

It's an MMO because it's a Massively Multiplayer Online game. What esoteric definition do you follow? I don't see the problem with a skill bar limit. Seven powers at one time is perfectly fine. Or are you the type of person that plays WoW with UI mods for more tool bars? In a typical MMO, you only use a hand full of your abilities at any given time. Seven would be fine. This is far from a Guild Wars clone, even if the skill bar limit is true. The fundamentals of the game very hugely. Saying a game is a clone based on ONE aspect is completely ridiculous. With that mindset, every MMO you play is a clone of another MMO. I'm not sure why I really responded to this, anyways, since you're making these claims based on what you heard, not what is the actual truth. |

Which means you have more powers. You can only have 7 active powers. I think there is 5 roles that you can have (Balanced, Offensive, Defensive, Support, and Healer). You start off with one (Balanced). |

Actually, I think Jack is working on Star Trek and this has become Bill Roper's project... I don't know if that is good or bad. |

Both have played a very useful and helpful role in Champions online. Don't see this as bad news at all. |
