You read the post correctly, I want an mmorpg that has very little to none end game content. Now let me go a bit deeper in and explain what I mean by that. I don't mean there is nothing to do once you reach the max level. I mean the gear you got, the items you got on your way to the max level, could be considered your end game equipment and items. In other words, there is no Gear hunting at max level. I don't mind Max level PvP and for PvE at max level I would really like a Storyline, or some cosmetic gear you can get but nothing that adds amazing stats. The main reason that I don't really like end game in mmorpgs is because of my time. I am a full time college student and I cant really have a schedule centered around my mmorpg or end game guild/clan/linkshell. I am currently on FFXI, have been for many years now, since 2004. I did do end game back when I was in high school. 2004-2005. Once I got to college however, I did not have the time to participate in end game and so I fell behind a lot. To this day, I really only have end game equipment that used to be really good back in 2005. Very few new equipement outside of the Auction house has been able to get to me. Like I said before, I cant keep up with a end game guild because I don't know what days my professors will decide to give more homework than other days.
So I need an mmorpg where the gear you get from 1-max level is actually a lot of the gear you use in end game. If possible I would like the game to not have an ever rising level cap that just adds more grind not content, and I would like the games PvE aspects to be mostly story, lore, cosmetic, Fun driven over gear/greed driven. A game where end game is more casual and FUN to do something you want to do because it is FUN or a challenge, not because you can get some gear off it.Some sort of end game that changes and gets harder as you get deeper into a dungeon. A dungeon that does not have the same layout twice in a row, boss fights that change strategy every time you fight them. Things to keep the end game fun and interesting, as well as challengeing. Rewards for this I would like it to be Cosmetic, and also a amazing storyline you feel compelled to follow.
Since I did say no level caps going up every few months I think that leaves every free 2 play Korean grind fest out of the question. So most likely Im looking for a Pay 2 play game. |

You could try Spellborn. Armors are for pure looks and weapons dont really have any stats but tbey do have sockets and thats how you " build " your character.
You also gain points when you level up , so thats about it. |

There are a lot of free MMORPGs out there that don't really have a whole lot of content to do at the cap. Ether Saga Online is different though. You can get to the level cap without a whole lot of effort, and the best equipment is usually crafted. But there are some dungeons to run at the higher levels that drop some stuff you might want. Other than that... I just play for fun really. Which it is pretty fun, in my experience. |

I think LOTRO would be a good game for you |

Guildwars. You have only 20 levels which you reach pretty quick, after that you still have 95% of the game to go. However the game actually get pretty hard at some later places so if you want something easy it might not be the best choice. The game is very priceworth with no montly fees. |

Well, if you want an MMO with no end-game , WoW pretty much has that covered :) |

Guild wars would indeed be a good choice. Getting to level 20 will take you a few days but with all the expansions you will have a lot of content that is all completely optional. Even then if you just want to pvp the game offers you the option to make a pvp only character that is already level 20 and already has level 20 gear.
You can play when you want and not have to worry about "end game" because once you are level 20 gear doesn't matter much, you can find stuff that is a little better and there are tons of different sets of armors that are hard to get, but most of it is purely cosmetic.
You can get the game and the 2 expansions for about 50$, plus there are no monthly fees, so if you are busy and don't play for a month or two, well it's not money wasted. |
