If AV actually banned all the cheaters adn hackers they wouldn't have much of a playerbase tbh.

Kinda like L2 with all the botters and Macroers those guys make up like 80% of the playerbase.

The first thoughts that come to my mind when im just about to reply to this is, honeslty when hasent something similar to this not happened in any other software thats ever been made.  If its not something with the actual game mechanics and some long gun exploiting something its a dislike.  Being as this is a new game, with a small dev team, i can see something like this happeneing.  It could also be a corrupt gm in game that has combined forces with these players.  Why are you calling it stealing also, just call it an exploit and thats it.  Theres plenty of them in every game. 

But i also think that you had a nice seige or what ever there called going on and its kinda sad that it had to end.  I still want a copy of darkfall though.

Maybe if Darkfall was free, sure, I'd want to try it. Actually, you can spend your money however you want. Just keep believing that exploits like this happen in every game.

Hint: People don't report common things, RARE or UNIQUE incidents make better news.

It's not the players' jobs to "ignore" the hackers--it's the devs' job to stop them. And sometimes, shame is the best incentive one can bring to bear.

 

You are making a mistake in thinking these hackers are shamed by someone posting a video of them hacking.  SOME hackers try to pretend they are just really good players.  I've seen that alot in FPS tournaments and ladders.  Other hackers like this guy do it because they can.  They know they are going to get caught, they know they are blatantly obvious.  They just don't care about their longterm future in the game (using that account).

 

He's not talking about shaming the hackers, he's talking about shaming the devs into fixing their code so that this crap doesn't end up on youtube making asses out of the devs of DF.

I don't think that the dev's will bother to fix any of the code but Tasos will be making an "offical" comment soon to the effect that all hackers and cheaters are banned within a micro-second of coming online along with a statement that all the Youtube videos of hacking/cheating in DFO are photo-shopped.

seriously, after reading the stuff that you have typed i have the feeling that you would be an excellent df fan and tasos follower, the game will be the awesomeness for you, BUY IT!

and just because you were trying to dl and install a hack for a game and therefor got your account stolen doesn't mean that this was the fault of the game you were playing back then (just a guess how it happened :p). every game has exploits and most of them even have some hacks, yes ... but darkfall is a hackers heaven, they made it too easy since 99% of what is going on is clientsided and there is no protection - there is no way that av will be able to fix that, i mean look, it took them 9 years to code this game, do you really expect them to fix anything or add any missing features within the next year?

if you believe in that, BUY THE GAME IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!

oh and yes, they fight really hard against all those hackers and of course they also have that 100% cheater detection that automatically logs every cheat, like tasos stated. soon there will be next massive ban wave ... with 12 people left playing, clicking away and skilling up, looking for the promised sand in this litter box.

People are confusing me, how they "can't believe it can happen to a boat". If it works on foot, it also works on a mount, boat, warhulk etc. If the driver is hacking.

by exaggerated, do you mean exasperated?  because i would believe the video would do the opposite of exaggerate.  and i'm not really sure that the video would exasperate the problem.

as for your last sentence.... um... what are you talking about?  are you describing failed attempts at cheating/hacking?

I dunno what is worse, the person stealing it, or the devs behind the game for not catching that and allowing it to go on.

I'm surprised no one spun this saying the game is a sandbox and you are suppose to be able to do anything. The proof is someone was able to steal and fly a ship. This is the best sandbox ever!
