It's going to suck..

I know the mmo market as a whole is moving into a more casual carebear safe sort of attitude, but even games like WOW provide more than one server type for their players. hell it's one of the reasons it did so well. providing the customers with what they want.

So how do Net Devil expect to make any money when their only allowing players to play on 1 server type. with limited death penalty and 40% pvp while the rest of the game is all safe zones and pve space.

I bet your playing Eve or wow right now. We all know how well wow has done with safe zones and Eve has empire space so what is your point.

So go play JGC and practice your twitch based skill a bit so you can hang with the rest of us:)

I think my point was clear smart arse.

We should be getting a pvp server, and possibly even an rp server. given that shard size is going to be around 3000 players. thats not a lot for a 3 nation game.

PVP Servers are a must.

A must for whom? Obviously the developers do NOT agree with you right now.

It is simple. If the game rolls out like this and does well, you won't see your pvp server. If not, they may try it. Very simple real world test.

I think JGE will get along just fine without a PvP server. It just needs to have dedicated zones that are free combat zones and that will do the job. If PvP is done right you don't need PvP specific servers.

Wow. I was considering looking at this due to my like of space sim mmos (currently play Vendetta Online). No pvp = not as much fun in my opinion. Will just have to wait while Vendetta progresses to 2.0....

Whats planned for 2.0? ETA?

Sorry for OT.  I thing they want to try one ruleset first. When it doesn't work they will try separate servers with different rules.

 EVE has empire space,but by no definition is anywhere except a NPC station that you are safe from PVP.

It's the same dam thing. They both are features designed to prevent greifing and make the game more fun for all.

If you where playing WoW, you wouldn't leave for JGE? Hell I bet even Hello Kitty Online got some of WoW's folks. I'm sure some of EvE's folks will leave for JGE too. If anything, for a new spaced based mmo since EvE practically has this market cornered,...for now.

Hell I'm interested in both Jge and Bp and look forward to free trials to both but that doesn;t mean I'll stick with them.

Seriously If people were going to leave Eve for something like Jge why didnt they show interest in the original JG and leave then? JG had next to no impact on Eve and niether will its graphical rehash.

If JGC had the support that Eve got it would be a far different story. Eve would have gone under because most people are looking to fly their own ship and not just point and click with no actual piloting skill invovled.

I doubt that many will stay with Eve after JGE gets some age to it like Eve has.

I don't know about that... Eve fits certain types of people well... JGE isn't going to give them what they are looking for.
What I think will happen instead, after JGE (and BP later on down the road) is released you'll see a sharp hit to newer players joining Eve... but people will still join Eve.

You sir are wery mistaken if you think you dont need "skill" to pvp in EVE

You need the right ship and equipment and a basic understanding of how to position yourself in a fight. You really do not need more than that to kill people in EVE. Even less then that is needed for big engagements.

However, I don't think JGE will compete with EVE until JGE starts focusing more on PvP. Right now it has a very weak and watered down PvP system compared to EVE.

There is no "right ship" there are ships and fitings more popular then others but all ships hawe their nemesis in this game

PvP is a must for me.... lol
