MO is trying to avoid the road of DF, or it should.  We do not want another demise like DF, we hope MO can get somewhere solid and grow.  And what are you doing in the MO forum?  Smack talks, insults to random people using terms like "carebear".

I am glad they even talk to you and care to explain.  You and your line of talking deserve an outright ban.  MO seems far more tolerant than average.  Its also good they refrain from the "this game is not for carebear" propaganda.  They can be making a niche game, but they did not start their first day by insulting everyone else.  DF took that path and we all know where it ends up.

In all seriousness though.   The Star Vault devs are probably some of the best I have ever seen as far as community participation and interaction.    Got to love the indy studios.   Where else can you and eveyrone you know go play Ultima Online with the company CEO, have him fund your in game ventures just so he can try to demonstrate to the community  what he is trying to bring back.

 

Like i said im over it now, but one thing has to be clarified...they did lock the thread and i lost more than one point so i find the timing of it all suspect since it happened all same time and such i dont think it was user caused on my rep, now they unlocked it a nice finishing touch to smear me...i supposed its just my word now so im only going to say that its easy to manipulate forums after the fact...so im dropping it already, all can stop posting now and let it die since this is just  a drama and i really wasted my time just to be spiteful for the heck of it, i really joined their forums since day one just so i could shoot myself in the foot.  For those who suggested neg repping me now really have missed the point, as my chances for beta ended when they singled me out so you  cant hurt my chance anymore than happened and frankly whne you lose what you worked for you dont care at this point.  Thats all i have to say this is my last message, i hope no one else bothers to post let the the thread die along with the truth that inspired it thats is how these things end i harbored no illusions, if it be a nerds rant it sure was not based on anger but a response to injury.

Ah he was hoping for a beta slot.  Now he lost his rep points he no longer believe he can gain free access and free gameplay (aka beta),  So the outburst.  If the developer promise him access to beta, I bet he will be happy.

What do you think will happen next?  He is not talking anymore, he is busy making new accounts in the forum and fight for a beta again.

No it's not vulgar, but it's offensive in the sense that we're all bored of hearing that term bandied about just as much as we're all bored sick tired of hearing "go back to WoW if you don't like it". It's the modern pat response that unimaginative gamers say when they don't have anything else to add to a conversation that's even vaguely intelligent.

And the mod was pretty easy going concerning your thread. You just kept bitching and moaning and bandying the word "carebear" around so much, you were like a broken record. They said in very clear terms... "we don't give a crap what other players want added to detracted from the game" (paraphrasing sorry) so technically they were siding with you. You just wouldn't stfu about it all though.

there is no point in posting your feelings about the game unless you are one of the carebear rpers there, because they'll shoot you down every time.

i suggested being able to do head movement left to right without changing run direction and they had a ball with that ... lol they wanna be able to take a dump and have food rot, just keep your fingers crossed your mouth shut and hope the game doesn't suck

To the OP,  Stop and think a second please...

A software house puts in a significant investment in making a product for you to enjoy, they host a forum so that they can communicate the development process to you as a potential customer (They don't have to do this by the way!) If done constructively it's a two way channel for them to gather ideas and to move the product along their design brief whilst adding in those extra wow that would be cool nuggets. 

Do not be under any illusion that a sole voice is going to change develop path period. For money to be put on the table a target demographic is identified and the product hooks are already set in stone. Development requires investment and investors want a plan. 

You got your wrist slapped for a number of reasons, you can offer you thought and views up in the hope that someone spots it and incorporates your "personal" wish into the game but it's like winning the lottery with the same odds.  I have worked in the industry and I know that the guys at the sharp end of the stick making the product are passionate and burn some serious candle light to make things happen.  No-one intentionally goes out of their way to product flame inducing rubbish, if they do then please save yourself the dev time and send a cheque to me with lots of zeros on it.

Please be serious and constructive and not so over dramatic, if your paying for development you get a say.  If not the hope, that what you want is in line with the development architecture and that you can help add that sparkle factor.

I have no clue why the OP had to make this post... Can one of the MMORPG mods remove this thread?

berjd @17:40 I am pretty happy about FFA full loot, burning stuff down would also be pretty good. However I would like someplace where I can relax, an do other stuff not involving manic violence and a face full of underpants. I like what the devs outlined in the PPP, thought there was a lot of things that are going to produce a great unique experince, though I can understand why they could see a need to limit certian freedoms, for a better new player experince.
