Well I'll put my input here just for another opinion that doesn't really matter. I have played for about 4 months pretty solid (disclaimer I have only played destruction side and have zero desire to play Order, thats just me tho... I played Zealot, Squig, DoK and the way I typically lean is caster DPS so a Sorc as main) as far as bugs or stability problems I haven't seen any other than a very rare crash to desktop. Having said that, I do have some pretty good hardware but lets not get into a "my hardware is better/as good as yours" pissing match, just suffice it to say I have no performance complaints whatsoever. The game has: an awesome framework not bad graphics a decent community albeit unfortuneately forced to be multiple personality types (from a total disconnect between PVE and PVP which is totally to be expected, just extreme in this case) Oh yeah and the crafting not that I ever have been a big fan of crafting in any MMO, really seems lame, but I din't really do much with it in all fairness. I have two main problems with the game and they are both design faults, one of these could be fixed quite easily if Mythic gave a rat's ass and the other I would have to say is between "don't hold your breath" and "LMAO ARE YOU KIDDING?, There will be two new generations of MMOs out at the rate they fix things" First and most easily fixed is a horrible skill imbalance between classes. there are at least two classes with a "I win" Icon on their spellbar and guess what, they are both Order classes. Next one won't matter so much if you like to PVE, but if you don't you're gonna hate level 31 to 39 cause all you can do is dig in and be a leach for 8 levels and they are gonna be a long eight levels. as soon as you click 32 your done with Tier 3 Scenarios and you're situation is: you can barely scratch any of the players who are any more than 3 levels above you while they can pretty much one or two shot you (its not about skill its about: they click that then this and oh yeah hes dead wheres my next victim?), and sadly there is not much else to do but die a lot, and try to get in on the dieng breaths of one of your teamates kills. Sorry but 32 to 35 against 40 is a loss I don't care how hard you try, 36 - 38 against 40 maybe if hes down and doesn't get any heals but I doubt it, then 38 or 39 OK and 40 vs 40 then just hope he isnt one of the classes mentioned above with the "I win" skill on his spellbar. I have played quite a number of MMOs starting with the original EQ about 9 months after lauch. Everyone of those games have had some of these types of problems but I have never seen this situation as far askew as it is in this game. Totally "retarded" at times that you would think if they gave a crap at all it would be quite easy to parse the collective damage logs and see that something is VERY wrong with the balance in Warhammer Online.

My take on WAR was when it was free I had fun but once the thought of having to pay for it came into play, I just couldnt pull the trigger....Also by the time my free time was up I was in tier 3 and the game just is not as much fun then as it is in 1 and 2......Also many of the vets said 4 was the worst of all of them so I decided not to go on any further...... |

Same here. I have CE, game runs terribly - and selling the "exclusive" books in their store was a punch in my face. I'm not going to look back to this game, EVER, seems like Mythic won't learn from their past mistakes... |

Im getting some lag in the RVR stuff but havnt messed with my settings as yet. Lag seems worse since i upgraded or perhaps its the server. I started a toon on Phoenix Throne to play with my buddy going to play on the one i used in trial and see if there is any difference. It has to be true, i have internet links. |

I think the reason it runs crap is because they outsources all the gfx stuff to asian countires like Korea. And then tried to shoe horn it int othe ir code. This game runs just as bad as those asian f2p mmos if not worse. |

Yea, that makes sense. I will get a free trial. It was totally brainless of me to listen to someone else. Yep, play the trial and see what you think. Ive just upgraded the trial myself and im having a lot of fun with the game. Dont know what it was like at launch but then i rarely buy a game at launch be it an MMO or single player. People can and do pick apart every game on the market, as said, play the trial and decide for yourself. It has to be true, i have internet links. |

Dunno the game always ran fine for me... Other than the first month I would get stuck on just about anything and everything for no apparant reason. It was great when you dropped off a hill and were stuck on a flat piece of ground..
I just turned my account back on... played for 2 hours and uninstalled again. I can't really list anything.. or even complain... I really don't know (it doesn't grab me...) Nothing bad to say really.
As to why I left after the first month? None of the reasons you listed. It was the sheer volume of hack use... with the WAR Buddy etc video's uploaded onto youtube daily.. even got to see myself die in a few of them. All I would see was "we banned XXX gold farmers today!!!!"
If I hadn't played DAoC and dealt with 4 years of Radar users... before they did anything about it.. I would have stayed longer.
Then again that really still isn't saying anything "bad" about WAR... so much as a certain group of people who play games like WAR that I refuse to deal with. Being able to choose the skills you want to use, offers much less variety than pre-made class based systems. -Future Game Developer |

If Warhammer doesn't make North American players happy, nothing will make us happy. The concept, MMO is probably outdated now. |

It is as long as they keep making MMO whack-a-moles. They need to start putting a world into MMO's, something where you can live/socialize/do countless stuff that does *not* involve pressing 1-2-3 to attack a creature/player and kill it and *then* maybe people will care about things enough to fight over it.

Originally posted by Syno23 I wouldn't agree with this statement. In fact, I would say that the concept of MMO is gaining momentum. The market is growing, and the playerbase is growing aswell. Also, why is Warhammer the end all be all for North Americans? I found eq2 and wow to be much better then warhammer and im a north american.

Uhm, the guy is greatly over-excagurating. If you like casual PvP then you will have a blast until the end game where it is kinda crappy. So don't write the game of completely. I hate the end-game yet I am still, after 6 months, enjoying doing scenarios (instanced PvP) and an occasional open RvR (not instanced PvP). The game got many unique features. Such as
So even though the game has some glaring issues (such as end game) you really should give the game a shot. There is even a trial running on the Euro servers so check out www.war-europe.com/
