1. Do your research on this game b4 you play it.

2. Dont read anymore of these forums or the Official DF forums until you've tried the game and judge it for yourself. Play at least 3-4 days and post your findings. let us know what you think.

If you have the disposable income, get it and try for yourself. Just be prepared to be almost entirely on your own after installation. Because AV's support is next to none. It be hardcore like dat.

I promise, you'll know before your 30 days are up whether or not you like it.

Personally, I temper my MMO's by taking breaks, and playing RTS's for a while.

Ask yourself these questions;

1) Can you handle mediocre graphic and poor animations?

2) Can you handle sound that at times is straight out horrible?

3) Whilst exploring will you be able to handle being killed when you have ran 30 minutes and then have to run the entire way again due to being killed?

4) Being ganked isn't a real issue for you?

If you can answer yes on those 4 questions imo then go ahead and try DF, quite possibly you will like it. DF has potential, but for me when I played it it also contained a lot of things that annoyed me. Expect to pay for a beta version of the game, because it is far from finished despite Tasos has claimed so several times :P

Also if you play the game, get yourself a Guild ASAP, this game is not designed to be played solo. You will meet gankers, you will meet good people and you will meet the scum of the MMO world in this game. Also be ready to have to put hours into learning the stuff you need about the game, this isn't a game that hold your hand the first "levels" and tell you what to do.
