So, I am finally deciding to come over to WAR.  I have played the trial, so I know what I am getting into.

I am looking to get involved seriously and spend a fair amount of time playing the game.  So, I need suggestions for a good server.  I want one that is pretty active.  Any guild suggestions are welcome too.

Also, if someone wants someone to play with and plays quite often I would ok with using refer a friend, so you could get a free month or whatever.  But, I just need a good suggestion for a server that is active for most parts of the day/late night.

i am in no way any kind of fanboi. this is only my opinion and fair warning to you. endgame sux. u enjoyed ur trial because tier 1 and 2 are the only enjoyable parts of this game.  i playted a witch elf to lvl 40 and miss playing this class sooo much, but endgame sux boring repetative all of the above. im sure you will still do whatever you want to do and that is fine. oner piece of advice i can give u is be a ranged class magic or weapon. tier 4 melee is obsolete. based on keep taking, u cant do anything because u are being nuked by either ranged or keep defenses. forgive my sloppy post ^^

 i wasted 6 months in war trying to find a server with an acceptable community on either side order or destro, i gave up.  no one wants to use team work and play the game as developers intended, ala team work and using the class roles to full effect.  its a case of crap community killed a game that coulda been great.

Well, I can't speak for other people but I'm just at the end of Tier 3 and have enjoyed it. I can say that I stayed away from the PvE part during Tier 3 as I didn't find it fun. However, I'm not playing this game for the PvE part.

My advice is that whatever server you go to make sure it has a decent population. Just check for what servers have medium to high when you log in. That should give you a good idea. Can't help you with the other stuff but perhaps you can go to their website forums and find a group.

 Depends on the server type you are looking for.  Open or Core.

I am on Iron Rock, Order side which is a core server with a higher pop.  The numbers seem to sway from side to side as far as balance is concerned.  Six weeks or so Destro was dominating, then a recent patch flipped that around and order was domintaing for a month or so.  Now another patch later and destro seem to be making a better showing lately and are turning out much better numbers.

Game is still having some growing pains with end game content and class balance, but I think it's great fun overall.

I believe Volkmar, Skull Throne, Dark Crag are all high pop servers but I do not know what type they all are or how the play is on them.  I know some of them are out there are really pop imbalanced or med/low populations.  Stay away from them altogether.

It's definitely fun if you play with friends and it has gotten better since launch. A bunch of friends started playing the game recently and they begged me to play with them. So far I am into T3 and so far it's been a lot better experience that I had during launch. This is another case of a game that needed more time in beta.

Phoenix Throne is a very good, well populated server.  It's also pretty well balanced, with perhaps a slight edge toward Destro (though this has fluctuated).  The community is generally friendly and helpful.

It's a Core server, and an RP server, so that might influence your decision.

Which realm did you plan on joining?  Both have some very well established and fun guilds to join.

I have to agree with the post above. T1 and T2 is a blast but end game really REALLY needs work. I was a melee class because I wanted to tank and I got nuked every stinking time. Plus it doesnt matter what server you are on ,its not going to be balanced. Although they have been trying to fix this issue since launch (server merges, free transfers) it is still the same. But who are we to tell you not to play the game. I bought the collectors editon for this game because I had high hopes. I even paid for 6 months in advance subscripition. I gave the game time hoping they would fix the major issues. Insted of fixing it they added to new classes.  But I still have hope for this game. I own the game and it doesn't take much to resub. But its going to be a while until I sub again. A long time.

The classes was cut out just for release and patched in once they were working, that was the right thing to do.

But they still have a lot of work to do, I cant believe that Barnett told AoCs faults just before launch and then make the same misstake himself, both games released way too early.

But fixing things takes time now since EA fired a lot of people at Mythic.

Haha at the post above.  Can you explain why?  I understand the end game isn't perfect.  I like PQs and RvR.  I love the PvP aspect.  I am just looking for a decent community.

To me, the problem of endgame can be fixed and it looks like Mythic is making an attempt to fix it.

I think both Volkmar and Iron Rock are two very active Core Servers.

And, as stated before, if you are interested in an RP/Core server, Phoenix Throne is very good.  If you feel like giving that one a shot, I'm on it a lot on Destro side - my main is named Rohn (go figure), so feel free to give me a yell.

Im almost to the end of the trial and will be buying the game to play with a friend on Phoenix Throne.  Only two servers were available to me for the trial so i rolled on each of them thinking i will play order with my buddy and chaos side on the other server. I keep hearing the game gets old but im having fun.  I like the fact you can solo if nothing in PQ's or the PVP areas is going on. No standing around waiting for a group.  After all the negatives ive heard i wasnt expecting to like it as much as i do and i find the story very good as well.

When you got to T4, you will understand.  Why a BW come right in front of you, and play like a tank?  Those are the things you will see.

At the time 3 months they release the game, I was being camped by Orders in scenario.  Day in and day out.  Now the balance is better, and you have noobs to fight against to make you feel not so bad.
