I think we can all agree that this game consists of pure raw absolute failure. Time to move on and let this shitpile die. |

you guys seriously missed the point, if AV gets sued/ gets a serious fine, they may wake up from their horrible handling of the game and start acting professionally, or sell the game to a professional company. When I'm energetic I'm: When I'm at default I'm:

OP I would do a CC chargeback. The game is clearly nowhere close to how it is being advertised on thier website. |

My only fault with this is: If other independent companies realizes that they can be sued for not delivering said product, we won't have anymore small niche games. The bigger companies seem to follow the MMO standard these days. I would like to see some diversity and I think its gonna be the independent companies that bring that to the table.
I can see your point though. Aventurine made some lofty promises, and has failed to deliver on many of those. The billing fiasco was just another failure. I can see people wanting compensation. |

Love it when someone says that money is nothing, your a customer, you paid for a service, you earn some basic logical rights for paying for a product.
Ofcourse if anyone volunteers to buy me games since money is nothing for them,il accept right away. |

You will cover your costs in a few hours if you have any skills Lets get to REAL fucking economics going, LETS BE REALISTIC AS TO HOW SERIOUS THIS IS! Say we take your star rating, 2.5/5, lets say 2.5 out of 5 people ((Thats 1 every 2 people for you idiots out there)) in the US Bought Darkfall for the 2009 year. 50 bucks is alot of money and more serious than you idiots think, Federal minimum wage suggests it takes atleast 1 full time work day to make that much money, which is 8 hours. Id love to see you guys shovel dirt and make ditches for 8 HOURS. Lets get to the point, so one every 2 people in the united states is? The current US population is 304,059,724 People. So that is 152,029,862 people in the united states, times that by 50 USD and you get. Yes Aventurine would make 7,601,493,100 USD. That is 7 BILLION DOLLARS for the year of the hype. They could make 7 BILLION dollars every year on their scamming. This is a SERIOUS issue, more serious than Madoff and Enron. People who make light of the scam situation do not know shit. I rest my mother freaking case. GET A LIFE! |

I doubt it will be successful. It won't die like Roma Victor did, as its easy to get into PvP (which is fairly mindless and simple to enjoy), but it won't have a huge following. If an MMO isnt finished, people get super pissed and quit. It's as simple as that. If LOTRO wasnt finished when it was released, people would have dropped it like a retarded child.
I've seen it happen before. Right now, the game is JUST FINISHED ENOUGH to engage in PvP. Once they sort out the plethora of maphacks/teleport hacks/speedhacks/etc, they'll fix bugs. Once they sew up the exploits, they'll add more features. However, if they don't do that in a timely fashion, even hardcore fanbois will get sick and quit the game.

When it comes to time playing the game, we have to take Tasos at his word that the guy never played much. I have a problem taking the word of a know snake-oil salesman over the word of a reviewer who I seem to agree with on just about every game he reviews. it might take a while to get a totally accurate impression of an MMO. But if it's a terrible, buggy, ugly POS, You can usually tell pretty quick. Even going with the amount of time playing Tasos is claiming, it's several play sessions over about a week and a half. IMO, that is plenty of time to know that Darkfall is the over-hyped product of ineptitude and corner cutting. |

Well they are fixing bugs very quickly and I've said in previous posts that it does have issues, I'm playing and enjoying it and most people playing think the same, At its core it is a very good game , but I think yeah it will be successful in an Eve type of way it will have a cult following. Darkfall is'nt for the mainstream of Mmo player I dont think , you only have to look at Eve its very successful but alot of people hate it or cant get to grips with it. I think Darffall will continue though, all be it probably not as successful as people were led to believe. |

I think most people like the OP are upset because they were made to believe that this game was polished, feature complete and ready. I think that Adventurine should have just said that Darkfall will be released in a unfinished state. Bugs and things will fixed overtime and as quickly as possible. Content will be added as the game improves. We will try our best with this game and with your help we can one day have the MMO that we have all dreamed of. I think they should have told all these people who have been following the game for 8 years the truth. AMD FX-4100 Zambezi (OC at 4.2GHZ ATM) |

Yeah. I mean, I'm not knocking the rate that they are making progress, I'm just saying that from previous experience with MMOs that have this kind of launch, it takes quite some time to get shit sorted out. I mean, I'll play it because its more entertaining than Ultima Online, and no other MMO so far has met that level of PvP action.
Hopefully, this hacking nonsense will come to an end (or get curtailed seriously) so the exploits and missing features can be focused on. |
