What happened to the [Edit:] very happy people [Edit] who said that DF was vaporware? It didn't exist, remember?
Where are those posters? They couldn't admit that they were wrong? This isnt a post to say DF is the best game ever, but in all honesty, it recieved a shitload of hate based on the fact that it wasnt released. Something about a few fanbois making up stories about the gameplay, and using bots to play with, or some such nonsense.
Anyway. You trolls [Edit:] enjoy lewd acts. [Edit] Darkfall was obviously released (Even if there is a lame-assed shop delay thing going on), and you were wrong.
Update - this isnt a troll post. I'm calling people on their bullshit and slander. Nothing baiting about it. If over a hundred forum users cry "VAPOURWARE!", and the game is released, then someone should say something about it. I've edited the post a bit to ensure that carebear whiners don't get offended. |

I don't disagree that the game is sorely lacking in features, just like the disaster known as Roma Victor. However, come on now. The craze before launch (including while the game was in closed beta) was that the game didn't exist, the footage was bull, it was never going to be released, and so on and so on.
It just irks me that people jump from one negative point to the next about this particular game. |

I'm not defending the game, as its a messy PoS right now. That isn't the point. Its a product that was released, despite the core of the anti-DF arguement being "It doesn't exist. It's never being released. The beta testers are all fanbois/paid/whatever". |

Since the game wasn't released with hardly any of what it claimed it would be released with or the level of gameplay it said it would be released with the original Darkfall was vaporwair, and we were all left with Darkfail as the replacement. It is an unfortunate thing, but when a majority of the games listing on the site are not even in game you know they don't even have the vigor to care about the game. Hell the main site still says they are in beta. |

Dumb Thread. We all know that DF isnt vaporware.........now. The problem was that the way adventurine and Tacos Flamebroiled handled news, info, and the amount of time it took to make this game could've been easily percieved as vaporware. Get over it OP. |

The Darkfall I followed for all those years is not the Darkfall that is released now...more like the evil twin...so yes in my/others eye's Darkfall is and was vaporware.

I did not think Darkfall was real. So? To much evidence pointed to it not being, overly ambitious design, old school for the sake of old school philosophy with no lessons learned from the very titles they were attempting to emulate. Some "guy" talking about how their production was better, and more complete than AAA development houses and projects.

Off-topic - I got punched in the mouth yesterday afternoon getting into a conflict with the boyfriend (surprise to me) of a girl I've been dating. I stabbed him in the left cheek with a phillips head screwdriver. I would rather avoid conflict, so I don't get into that kind of trouble, and honestly, "drama" gives me anxiety attacks.

It IS true that the game is missing 60% of its features (Deja vu), and that someone could say "The DF I knew never got released". That's just splitting hairs, however. A little off topic - you have to consider that you can't expect a finished product from a company that doesn't have the manpower/resources to finish it under a deadline. The development of DF will be slow, half-assed, and not according to a schedule. That's just the way it is.
HOWEVER, no matter how shit the game is, Darkfall got released. It's always existed. Saying otherwise was just an uninformed (and that's what bothers me the most - the ignorance) blast of rage against any opinion that the flamer didn't agree with.
Now you have legitimate reasons to hate the game. My post is just stating that the previous reasons were invalid and assumptions. |
