It's been alot of discussion wether Darkfall is worth a low score or a high one after the Eurogamer review.

There have also been a discussion if the Eurogamer reviewer actually played the game before making his review on Darkfall.

I think that the Eurogamer reviewer didnt enter Darkfall with an open mind. He had his score thought out BEFORE he logged in first time.

What puzzles me is how a reviewer can act like he did.

If he dont have an open mind to Darkfall then he isnt the one that should make this review. He is coloured with his negativism before logging in.

80% of today Darkfall players rate the game btw 6 and 10.

I give Darkfall a 9.

Darkfall isnt for everyone and letting a carebear like this Ed guy from Eurogamer review Darkfall is born to fail. He like carebear games like LOTRO and isnt interested in Darkfall.

It's like letting the devil review the bible.

Worst part of it all is that he didnt even play Darkfall before making his review.

People complain that all games are the same and when a game comes along and does things different, people complain.  Everyone I know playing DF love it.

So....would you expect people still playing it to say it sucked?  That doesn't make sense.  Of course people playing it like it.

Ofcourse people playing a game gives it good remarks, usually people play a game they LIKE. So this proves nothing except that you are a moron fanboy trying to promote a game you like.

I have played the game and would give it 3/10, observe the word played and not play.

As for Ed having to be ashamed. He should be proud of his review because hopefully it will prevent people like me wasting 50 euros on an unfinished, outdated and poorly implemented piece of crap.

I would hazard a guess that the vast majority of game reviewers do not have an open mind when they do a game review.  How could they?  If they have any knowledge of the game or company that produced the game they form an opinion (if even subconsciously) of the game they are going to review.

I believe the assumption would be, if they did not like it, they would stop playing and therefore not likely vote in a poll on a site for a game they no longer play.

Are you high? Clearly im saying that people will just quit if they don't like it, they are not going to spend money to  play a game they dont like. I didn't even mention Zitron  girl so lets keep this on track. I clearly showed his statement means nothing.

He is saying that the people that are currently paying to play darkfall obviously like it or they wouldn't be paying.  It has nothing to do with Ed Zitron.

 And 100% of professional mainstream gaming reviewers rate Darkfall 2/10, I wonder which one is more reliable.

Aragon weren't you also posting similar and just as pointless "80% of Darkfall beta testers rate Darkfall highly" type polls when the overwhelmingly negative and very damaging beta leaks started coming out.

News just in, 80% of people currently paying for something rate it between ok to good.

If you're a carebear then Darkfall isnt a game for you. But for the old UO players and other hardcore PvP:ers it's the best thing that happened to the MMO genre since UO.

Have you even played Darkfall?

Have you tried out the endgame skills in PvP?

Do you know how much skills affect the outcome of a battle with hi end characters?

Darkfall is as complex as UO when it comes to skill in PvP when it comes to hi end performance.

I played UO for +10 years and played Darkfall for 6+ months now and seen the similarities btw these games.

A good players wins angainst a bad player, and he wins bigtime.

Come back when you have some experience from hi end performance and the endgame.

Would be sad if only anti-gamer types rule these forum but its really worth a consideration. Is up to MMORPG.com if they want fans of the game having talks here and a community. Their behaviour is ambivalent.

Their moderators gives much more room to hatertrolls then a Community should handle but on the other hand Jon Wood and others officials defends their activities around DF in many occassions (for example in some anti DF Forum petitions) and through their correspodence programm.  

I am not sure what MMORPG.com wants finally but i am sure DF had brought them much hits and they like that.

Darkfall is approximately two big patches away from being a truly great game.

Darkfall:

Art:   5 / 10

- The world looks nice, but animations and sound are a big fat zero.

Technical:  0 / 10

- The UI is horrid, controls are terrible, and the server/network code just fails. 

Gameplay:  5 / 10

- Most game mechanics are just borked:  players can't skill up with newbie weapons, and siege rules are just fail.    The AI isn't up to par, and the alignment system make you shake your head.   The skill tree is terrible and crafting is a joke.   Even though 90% of the elements fail individually, but when they are placed together there is a semi-fun game. 

Overall:  1 / 10

Got a friends account played for 20 - 30 hours and never plan to look back again.

You can also say that 100% of the reviewers that dislike niche PvP games give those games a bad score, just like Ed did.

Why didnt he play the game before making a review on it?

We both know the answer to that, dont we?

I can also so that many people who like that sort of thing tried it and quit and would readily give it a bad review.
