What's so wrong with Darkfall that makes you come and insult/degrade the game? I want to understand the reasons why there's so many haters when the game is not so bad IMO. I've played it for 1.5 months so far and I still have the same excitement that I had when I started. |

I've made some negative posts regarding darkfall. And I can tell you why, but I'd warn you that my reason is probably not most peoples' reason. I work in PR and am a gamer. I see the gaming industry, as a whole, fail horribly at PR, brand management and customer support every day and it drives me crazy. darkfall and tasos' antics are an extreme example of how a company should not relate to its customers. And if I were teaching one of classes I took in college, I would use this* situation as a perfect example of what not to do. Basically. It's a train wreck and I can't stop watching.
*If the class were oriented toward those entering the gaming industry, I would also point to Positrons(CoX) anti-farming announcement yesterday as an example of how to say the right thing in the very wrong way. |

You don't notice the grind? The lack of a middle game? The lack of a unifying theme? That the game cannabalizes it's population so severely that attrition is a major problem? Every game is a grind, unless you turn the grind into fun. I really can't explain it but even training and harvesting is fun. But I macro overnight when I want to train something important but I rarely do it since it's extremely risky and gankers will simply kill you while afk. |

Here you and I agree. I am not talking about people who decide that Darkfall is thier cup of tea, and play and enjoy the game. "Haters" do not hate the game. we dislike the company and Tasos, who is a liar. This is undisputable. For those that are able took past all that and the crappy business model crappy un updated website and yadda yadda yadda.. anti DF talking points, and just enjoy the game, more power to them; glad they are able to play a game they like. This "feud" is perpetuated by people who have any opinon that is unfavorable of the company and its practices, and even game play. The rabid cult of Tasos is what creates this nonsense. |

They are haters in life, that's just the way it is. Everyone likes to see people/games fail. Just step into any forum on this thread for a game that was just released. Now the reason I think this game generates more haters then usual is because people are upset about all the lies Tasos promised them for 8-9 years, and did not deliver. Ill list a few of them below:
"There are no safe zones in Darkfall unless the players themselves create them or seek them out. There is no area where a player cannot be attacked by another player." "A player in a city full of his clanmates and further guarded by NPC guards is as safe as he can be, but he is still vulnerable to a sudden enemy raid." "No. Darkfall is seamless and will not have zones and zone loading, as seen in other MMORPGs. There will be a short loading pause when entering dungeons and structures." So it's like telling someone that they just inherited $1,000,000 then later on telling them that it was actually $100,000. The $100,000 is still great, as in Darkfall people are mad because they were promised lots of features but only some of them. Those features that weren't implemented still did not kill DF anyways, the features already in game are good enough. |

Every game is a grind, unless you turn the grind into fun. I really can't explain it but even training and harvesting is fun. But I macro overnight when I want to train something important but I rarely do it since it's extremely risky and gankers will simply kill you while afk.
You afk macro overnight? I think afk macroing is against the EULA. Then again, I guess alot of people do that in DF so that makes afk macroing an accepted practice in the eyes of many. You need to cheat to keep up with all the others who cheat which creates a disasterous snowball effect. |

Yeah that is a problem but not gamebreaking. The fun is still there even though I macro to keep up with others because pvp raids will never get boring for me. |

They already banned 213 peope for cheating, and Im sure macroing falls in that category, if you, the 6 remaining players keep of with that, you are gonna be a lot easier to catch now... |
