Check out a sample video of one of the 360 single player titles. If they took the naruto world, put it in a ninja village with clans vs ninja vs clans, pvp and pve, used the darker less kid focused Manga (comic) undertone, this would be the best mmorpg franchise to work with since WoW.

I could totally see this. Definitely a skill-based system with taijutsu, genjutsu, ninjutsu and "med-jutsu" branches. While the basic skills (shuriken throwing, running, basic chakra control for standing on water or the sides of trees) would be available to everyone, the village you pick would affect specific powers and clothing available. And you could have a summoning power - maybe have some quests that would involve working with frogs/dogs/snakes/chimps and when you've reached a certain partnership level, you gain the ability to summon them.

It could work...

Why not create a 'Hello Kitty' MMO while you are there, it could work...

I keep going back to MechWarrior / BattleTech games...  The old paper and pencil game on up to the CRPG games.

CarWars / AutoDuel, another good game that has would be a fun MMO

Traveller is another game series that I would like to see in an MMO.

There have been pseudo attempts to make MMO's similar to these, but they have been over simplified and uninspired.  Would really like to see a properly developed game for any of these.

6-Why? Its an epic single player game.

5-This could be cool.

4-Again there is already DDO and its mutiplayer anyway.

3-If it was survival horror then yes

2-Would be very cool for some people

1-Never played but it would be perhaps to simular to WoW.

My top game to MMO would be Pokemon as that would be freaking awesome. Also a warhammer 40k one as an FPS would be really cool too.

my friend they already have Pokemon Online ---->  http://www.pokemonworldonline.net/features.php

and yes, it is GBA style but you see other players.

Hate to burst your bubble at your list but there has already been a Neverwinter Nights MMO. Backed by AOL and published by SSI back in 1993. It was one of the first true MMOs out there, even if it was dialup. It had avatars you could interact with and quests. Gameplay was, at the time, very advanced and there was several hundred players in the game pretty much all the time.

So unless BioWare would be able to acquire the rights to produce another Neverwinter Nights MMO from AOL (since BioWare still holds the Neverwinter Nights licenses for single player versions) and given their ability to produce quality games and their new found jump into the MMO arena with SW:TOR, that would probably be the only way such a game could come to light.

However, I would also love to see a Mass Effect MMO, given the way the single player game is setup, it wouldnt seem to be that difficult to make a MMO that plays in the same fashion, and it would have virtually unlimited expansion ability, cause they could just add new worlds to create more quests and areas to explore, something that they should have focused on doing in the now dead Tabula Rasa.

There are plenty of fantasy based MMOs out there so a good sci-fi one in addition to SW:TOR would go a long way.

I've always thought that the lore and world behind Megaman or Megaman X games would make for a really good mmo. I worked on making it into a mud way back in the day, but it ended up not quite working out, and I gave up.

I mean, they did make Megaman into an RPG on the Gamecube. Command Mission, I think it was called, and I thought it worked out very well. I think it'd translate great into an MMO, but maybe that's just me.

you FORGOT... THE WORLD ENDS WITH YOU ONLINE! it would look something like this: you have died and yu are supposed to form a pact with another player character to suvive the noise and you choose which pins you are best at in the beginning and fix that the tips in the original comes much earlier i've cleared the game and only recently found out all about it... (if you haven't guessed I am crazy in twewy) also if you dont know what it is look for a walkthrough on youtube that should cover half of its glory

I would love to play an updated version of Might and Magic 6, 7 and 8.

I know turn based games are now out of fashion but I loved these games.  In an MMO it would be a bit like Atlantica Online combat party with Might and Magic storyline and quests.   An old game that had classes, levels and skills and atmosphere.   I would still be playing it if the old graphics did not look so bad on modern high resolution monitors.

I'm surprised that Game Freak/Nintendo haven't decided to come up with a Pokemon MMO, but make it mostly instanced like Guild Wars to get that feeling of being the master, as well as giving opportunities to have little storyline arcs, like the hunt for a powerful Pokemon or having a bunch of characters to interact with, such as Gary, Ash, etc.

I know I'm kind of old to still be interested in Pokemon, but it's not like I wouldn't be interested in such a thing. After all, I think the concept of capturing and fighting with monsters is used in other online games. Why not make it an official Pokemon one?

I got this idea from listening to Retronauts, by the way.

Kinda late to answering this, but...

They did make .hack//Fragment, which is an MMO form of .hack, but it failed so miserably that they didn't bring it Stateside, and it closed rather quickly.

I think people are more interested in the storyline and graphical appeal of the .hack games than the actual MMO aspects themselves.

I loved Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego as a child... forced me to learn geography and major imports/exports, animals, plants and other aspects of other countries. I watched it on TV and played it on my computer waaaaaaaay back. But I am sure Google and other search engines would be a draw back from the actual learning to who can search the fastest.   Nothing wrong with a game that can get kids to be interested in people and places outside of their little cities.

As to it being an MMO...well that would take some fancy dancing to ever make it happen ... but thanks for bringing it up. Maybe one day there will be an MMO bent on teaching school/high school aged kids.  PVP Hangman and other language and history based pop quiz sudden death PKON free for alls...oh yeah!

Currently Playing: WoW
Previously played: LotRO, Rapplez, RoM, Dofus, LC, Requiem, WoKF, Florensia, AL, Cabal, M2, PW, etc
Waiting on: Aion

 Ok,  does anyone agree with.....

Dynasty Warriors Online.  And dont think crappy Koei quality.  Think Triple A,  over the top Jade Empire style Dynasty warriors.

The story is amazing, combat should be superb and revolutionizing and give it Jade Empire mechanics and progression.  Pure win.

Don't discount Shadowrun as a great property for an onine game. Hackers, Cyber Samurais, Shamans, shapeshifting dragons. What a great combination. Plus the RPG system is already created, I think Shadowrun roleplaying rules are up to their 4th edition.

Oh, and there was already a Neverwinter Nights MMOG. It was one of the very first actually. It ran from about 92 to 97 on AOL. Was the game that broke my online gaming cherry. And my bank account (pay per hour, once paid 1400 dollars for a month of play).

There was a Shadowrun mmorpg in development. However, Microsoft pulled permission to make it from the developer when they decided to make the Shadowrun game for XBOX 360. Considering how that game bombed due to Microsofts' stupidity of making an rpg into a "Quake" clone, plus the fact Microsoft is now butthurt over that fact, I highly doubt they'll ever give the permission out again.

Funcom needs to change the /petition command into a general nano called "Summon Personal Jester"
with a 1 hour cast time and 90% fumble rate.

I keep hearing about this cloud computing thing and I bet that's where FC is putting the grahics engine. Right now they're investing in the weather balloon technology to get all the bits of code up there. Helium is expensive so it might take awhile.

Growls at the painting, clutching it tightly "Damn you! Let me inside of you! LET ME INSIDE OF YOU!"

You guys can't honestly play .Hack//G.U. or any of the other .hack games, and wish that they wouldn't make that into an MMO! That game is already made in an MMO format, all they need is the platforming to be able to with-hold the mass amounts of players that would be playing at a time!

I'd say that the only downside to that would be all of the gamers who aren't 'origional', and steal or closely copy the names of the characters from the game or from the anime.
