I thought what I'd do is I'd pretend I was one of those Deaf-mutes. |
I keep seeing people claim this game has over 40k subscriptions. Where are there any facts reguarding the subscription base? I'm tired of the heresay and google provides no answers. |

There are no submarines in the game, period.

Javac has posted those numbers a few times now. Each time I've quoted and asked him to explain were he gets those numbers, but he never responds. |

Subs, are good indication for a well running game. This game is still being treated as a beta and will never see the shelves. As a pro-supporter for the game(past) I will never play due to the delays and you-tube videos. This is not a whining post or bashing one, I am just tried of waiting. If there comfortable with 40k thats fine, I like so-many others no longer care. They have burnt there bridges. Waiting next for Fallen Earth! Hope one Indie can due a dissent game other than one more F2P game based on WOW. If I hear item shop I am going to puke! |

Most of the blanket statements made by the fanbots are without substance, as they typically cannot provide proof. Expecting a fanbot like Javac to provide proof...they will simply ignore that cardinal component of a discussion and deflect it by talking about Eve, or the tried and true litany of "The game didnt want you anyway" type insults that frankly is botspeak. If nothing else, for me personally watching the comedy that is Darkfall and its legion of fanbots has been amusing to say the least. The jaded mantra about telling lies and eventually people will believe them may sound good in a book, but when employed against other people you better have something to base those lies on. Last word of advice to the bots, never lie when information that contradicts you is publically available. |

I don't see anyone in here defending the 40k claim.. whats wrong Darkfall Fans? Caught in a lie? |

Where can we get the game at?? I wanna try it out beta or no beta. Everyone says to look on the website, if its there you get in, if not you don't. But which tab to look for it in? home? features? community? |

Making a wild guestimate here. I say around 15-20k. -TORMENT GAMING COMMUNITY- |

I feel in a constructive arguement that talking about subs for this game is useless because of the fact that no one can buy it really. Claiming subs for this game is like saying you found sasquach, because there has been no announcement of the number of subs and anyone can make up a story of how they came up with the number of subs. Off topic: But I will give credit to this game. Its given me the most fun on an internet forum in a long time. Because the blind faith fanbois are just so funny. I don't think I have seen a game with such a strong following yet they have no reason to follow it. Tasos is a lier. AV is by all business standards and HORRIBLE business. Its just plain comedy. Back on topic: Anyways as said claiming sub numbers is like claiming you found sasquach because anyone can make up a story about how they found sasquach, just as they can as how they aquiered sub numbers for this game. |

If my memory serves me right, there was a time when it was possible to see the total number of created characters on the server. Aventurine eventually turned off the ability to see that number but if I remember correctly, before they turned it off, the number was at less than 10,000. Since you can only have 1 character per account, that number was a pretty good estimate of total user accounts in Darkfall. That was about a month ago. I find it hard to believe that in about a month, the the number of unique accounts rose by more than 4 times. Especially because of Aventurine limiting purchases.

Are you positive you need an in game account for that forum? For me it just reads;
How do I register? You register by clicking on the 'Register' link near the top of the page. You will be asked to choose a user name, password and enter a valid email address. In addition there will be some other fields to which you will be invited to respond. Some will be mandatory while others are optional. Once this is complete you will either be fully registered, or in some cases you may have to click on a link in an 'activation email' sent to your email address. Once you have done this you will be registered. Note that entering your email address will not leave you open to 'spam', as you can choose to hide it from other board users. You'll probably be able to allow other registered users to contact you via email, but the system won't display your email address to them unless you give permission. If you are under the age of 13, the administrator may require that a parent or guardian provide consent before allowing you to complete the registration process. More information about this is available during the registration process

That and number of people who have bought the game isn't as important as the number of people actually still PLAYING the game. There could be 40,000 boxes sold but only 3,000 people are still actively playing and there would be no way to prove that. At least not from number of people signed up on a forum. |

I think me not using craptastic IE is the cause of this problem. |

So let me get this straight, a character #60452 Joined on Feb 3rd, 2009 But a character #210402, joined on Feb 2nd, 2009? board9.eu1.darkfallonline.com/member.php Somehow I have a feeling that those numbers don't mean what you think they mean. Edit: besides, since the game was released on Feb 26th 2009, those are obviously beta characters. Since during beta there were no restrictions on how many characters a tester can make, and since the database obviously has characters from beta, your whole point is suspect at best.

hmm is that an official site just for darkfall players.
if so damn they ripped off Horizons big time: img.qj.net/uploads/articles_module/71354/horipc00b_qjgenth.jpg Gotta love the dragon holding the title. board9.eu1.darkfallonline.com/images/styles/cod/misc/logo.gif but my question why use a dragon for their title, they should have all the races around thier title as pve is shit in this game.
Im going to sell you a dream. |

Darkfall currently has over 40,000 subscribers because Eve Online had a around that number after launch and these two games and the company's that developed them are directly comparable. Also remember Darkfall is a tremendous success so it obviously must have at least over 40,000 subscribers. You can safely expect Darkfalls number of subscribers to steadily grow over time from its current over 40,000 subscribers to around 250,000 subscribers in a few years just like Eve Online, because these two games and the company's that developed them are directly comparable. After Darkfalls pre order pay to beta limited staged launch release has ended and many more new servers are opened up and Darkfall launches in the USA and then shortly after worldwide expect shock waves to spread amongst the MMO community when the long awaited WoW killer has finally arrived. If you are wondering because of your ignorance why Darkfall and Eve Online and the company's that developed them are directly comparable, its because they are both small Indy niece PvP centric MMO's that self publish. Anyone who disagrees with this obviously has never even played Darkfall and is a blizzard employee or another carebare game developer who's threatened by this games already tremendous success and fearful of the long term effect it will have on all the currently available vasty inferior MMO titles.
