Hey everyone!  I live in north america and for some reason this game has really caught my attention.  Some people say they hate it, some people say they love it, and i want to know why.  The problem with this is, how in the WORLD do i get my hands on this game.  I have been reading on the forums and people say go to the Darkfall site and the shop is there.  The shop is closed! People say it will open and to find the schedule, i have looked and can't find it!  This has to be the most confusing MMO i have ever tried to subscribed to.  If anyone can give me any information that would be great.

this game reminded me of dark & light launch, only a lot more difficult to get a hold of an account, they have a poor marketing scheme, first come first serve and they only sell 5 copies a month.

5 copies a month! lol what are the chances of me getting one!  thanks crazy..i dont think the game is worth this hassle.  I have to keep my eyes on the same page hitting the relod button waiting for the button to say available.  This doesnt sound right to me.  Just plain silly

They allow sales based off server capacity, to all of you out there who are drying their eyes please consider the fact that if they OVER sold their capacity you'd just be sitting in a que to join a REALLY Laggy game since if they just opened the flood gates thats all that would happen.

I'm sorry everyone just needs to chill and wait to get their hands on a copy, they sell WAY more than 5 a month.

The game will be full released soon enough.  (As opposed to what is now a limited release)

What did you expect from an independant game company?

It's a paid beta at this point, hence the slow flow of consumerbase which gives them a perfect way to test server capacity as they add more content (which is lacking)

I rather they do it as a slow flow system then having TOO many players at once and server crashing every 5 minutes similar to alot of previous MMOs. Eventhough the server still crashes every so often, particularly in large battles, but at least we are not losing our rafts/mounts after every server crash like before. Now if only they can fix the VM crashing issue. /shrug, it is a paid beta.

out of curiousity... what type of server/computer gear is it that you guys think they're having to save up millions, in order to purchase?

i mean, i keep hearing that they to save up to purchase another server.  yet, they're supposedly using their own version of what eve has...

I believe at this point it's pretty much common knowledge that the Darkfall server is based on "Alien Technology".  The bulk of which has been reverse engineered already by none other than Tasos himself ..... go figure.

It seems the "flux capacitor" however requires a 99.9% pure dilithium crystal to operate correctly.  Unfortunately the 99.9%DLC can not be obtained  by earthly means alone.

Aventurine and "The Aliens" are in closed negotiations currently.  I have it on good accord Aventurine was willing to come off of (5) Darkfall game accounts for the crystal.  The aliens initial offer was for (10) game accounts however, so I'm expecting somewhere in between.

Hopefully an agreement will be reached soon ............

I hate to derail this wonderful thread, but did you really mean to type that, daarco.  *points to red text* You can't prove that, so how is it not opinion?  I've seen some pretty crazy stuff said from both camps before.  That is by far the most outlandish of the lot though.

I hate to derail this wonderful thread, but did you really mean to type that, daarco.  *points to red text* You can't prove that, so how is it not opinion?  I've seen some pretty crazy stuff said from both camps before.  That is by far the most outlandish of the lot though.

I think the facts speak for itself. Thats what i mean with "no opinion". 

Besides the issues from the latest patch, not me or any of my friends had had any problems yet. Not even in mass combat. I wich i had some problems. But still nothing.

And i have tryed many other MMOs, so i have something to compare to.

I'm going to assume running a server and buying bandwith cost money.

A small independant company doesn't have a lot of this thing they call "money."

Hence the reason for the slow release.  I enjoy the jokes about reverse engineering alien technology, but seriously folks everyone can agree that Servers and Bandwith do infact COST MONEY.

So where is the confusion?

Shitcan the independent company crap. That is so worn out the cords are showing thru the tread already.

The truth is it is a sham company run by people with no business sense or just a bunch of scam artists.

The cost is real of course BUT.....they are renting space on a server farm so it is nowhere as bad as buying the hardware and bandwidth themselves. They are just a bunch of amatuers and should be charging what the game and their customer service is really worth....Free2Play, ie nothing.

They come on for the last 8+ years saying how great they are and how they are so much more prepared, have better code, better AI then any MMORPG ever launched. Well put up or shut up time came and went in Feb. They unfortunately did neither so OP keep your money for a game that is worth the same as a AAA level title, this is not the company to deliver one nor have they.

I usually ignore people who state they are the "end all" of their opinions. In other words what they say is law...

It is usually signs of a fanboy or disgruntled player out to prove a point. If it didn't happen to them then it is a lie. Which is clearly untrue. I watched the DF forum and waited for the store to open and got my account activated. Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, wasn't as pleasurable as I had hoped. Currently I am in talks with my bank wondering why I was double billed. No biggy, I;ve enjoyed the game thus far, I have seen people cheat, I see people macroing everywhere, I have seen far too many bugs for a game supposedly in development for 8 years, but I am bored with the MMO genre, and true sandbox games are far and few, so I will stay with DF until this summerbecause its a simplistic First person shooter with levels broken up per skill in 4 increments of 25. That's pretty much it.

They sell thousands of accounts every week. The shop is open 2-3 times a week. You have to be quite fast though, it will be sold out in 10 mins. So log onto your game account (NOT the same as forum account!), then press 'F5' until you see the shop open and then order.

It should be possible. My brother got 2 copies for us in a single setting.

Btw. this is probably the best MMO out right now, if you are not into the whole EQ/WoW cloning thing.

Don`t spam the F5 button or you`ll get a 10 min block. Just change between the supportmeny and storemeny untill you see the store is open. 

If you really want Darkfall you`ll know how to get it, so spare me for these "Oh I can`t buy it " post. DF is a limited release (or payed beta as some call it), so read up on how to get it or wait for AV to release more servers.

is that why it crashes on saturdays and other big fight times?  cuz it's super stable?

exactly what type of server/computer equipment is being bought, which you people believe costs untold millions of dollars?
