I've read a few post today about Eve and i've posted a few posts now. What im reading confuses me, i see people post the game sucks(thats my opinion as well) and i see people flame them back and tell them it does not. i see people post that they played the whole trial time and said it was boring( again after my 6 months of play totalled over the years, i agree) some again has to flame them and tell them they are dumb, stupid wrong, are trolls, blah blah blah blah blah...

what i havent read from the ones that love this game so much is, why they love this game so much. what about killings ships is so fun? what is it that you like so much that you have to treat others badly when they give their opinion, biased or not.

this game blows hard and thats my opinion and nothing you can say will change that. if i didnt have friends playing the game when i played, this game would have been worse then watching paint dry.

actually some gave a great answer, fly like a tie fighter or better yet earth and beyond.

theres already a thread about that. perhaps if you asked in a nicer way people would be more inclined to answer you?

i can see you making a "turn this much" command with a joystick, but not a "fly on this heading" command. go play tie fighter if you want tie fighter.

but see you just said it, its in another post, im replying to the OPs post and what i've read in the proceeding posts, that every has been replying to his post. and none of them a polite or explain why they feel the way they do. they just whine/cry that the OP didnt do that.

theres a thread out there that answers your questions, but you dont want to go find it, you want us to bring the information to you, after you've posted a load of smack and flamebaiting.

im frankly not surprised that you didnt enjoy eve.

I've beta tested at least 15 games, i have played at least 30 different MMOs. i can say for with out a doubt, i can play a game a few days and know what the game is about.

edit: as to the flamebaiting BS, no what im looking for is someone with an actual brain to reply to a post with some intelligence. giving someone who had a bad time playing the oportunity to learn something and not feeling like they are being bullied for what they feel and what they voice.

Take one minute. Go back to the begining and re-read the OP's post. Now, you're trying to tell me that that post: A.) is deserving of me or anyone else taking their time to write out a thoughtful explanation of the great points of the game? B.) the post of someone who played the trial to it's full extent and  "knows what the game is about"?

If you are sincerely trying to tell me that your answer to these questions is "yes" I'm utterly speachless.

Otherwise, I stand by my statement that the OP's post is fully deserving of the response it got.

You're assuming EVE is like any game you've played before though.  14 days is enough to grasp the most basic concepts of the game.  Those being - run missions, how to attack, how to train skills.. etc.. the very basics of the game.

The thing with EVE, however, is that it has so much more than that.  It simply isn't possible to learn what the game has to offer in 14 days.  All that will get you is the knowledge of how to earn money and how to PvE, and not even that well.  There are so many details related to those things that you will still be learning months after starting.  It is also not enough time to get into PvP, which is the true guts of the game.  The game is intended for PvP, and it's just plain not possible to PvP as a complete newbie in 14 days.  Give it a month of -really- understanding the game, and joining a player corp, and then you'll start to understand what the game is about.

I guess this fruit proves that EvE is a one-of-a-kind game.

The fact that you played so many games *cough* should have made you aware that EvE is something different. Whether you like that or not is still up to you, but coming here and stating that after 14 days you've seen what this game is about is........hilarious. Someone hand this guy a prize or something.

i did go back and reread the post to make sure what i read is what i read. and because i agree with the OP whole heartedly, i guess im at a loss for you. the one thing i have to say is that if the OPs post sucked so bad, it shouldnt have gotten the response it got, and to me, if they can take the time to respond like they did then they could of taken the time to post a link to say what xen told me to do( a search of what makes eve great.) does the OP deserve a response like that, who knows, but i've seen it done on these forums, someone just needs the patience to point them to the right place without flaming him/her.

You guys are so condescending, it's like your a parody of yourselves at this point.  The constant insinuations that people who don't like Eve are simply less intelligent than people who do are laughable.  About every fourth post someone has to tell us how Eve is different than every other MMO, and quite frankly, we just aren't intelligent or mature enough to enjoy it.  We should all go back to WoW, and every other MMO that is a carbon copy of WoW.   All shall bow to the power of the mighty cult of Eve.

Totally agree this is a PvP game, and i know when i started to play again after apoc came out with one of my teachers that headed my mcsa class, was that many of the more advanced items/ships were listed that you couldnt be on the trial to use them. which for me is a pet pieve, if you want someone to trial your game, why limit it? whats the big deal? if they like what they see they will sub, if not they take up some space on a harddrive in a server room. for me if your game's endgame is PvP, there should be a taste of it or explaination of what is needed in the tutorial and in the 14 days that follow. now im assuming the OP's mates had been playing some time and know that PvP is the "endgame" and that it was cool. His cretique of the play style is his complaint, all be limited in its scope, me thinks it was suppose to be general and taken way to serious.

eve is like every other game i have played, guess its why im so harsh to it, i expect more. what i can say to that would take to long so i guess ill just say this, the game has great potential that maybe one day it will live up to.

If you come here to post misinformation, lies and completely false garbage about the game, the posters here will crap all over you, especially when they've already actually tried to explain the mechanics to someone and offer them helpful advice but they blindly dismiss it.

I read on this post because it was up on the main page, i wasnt trolling for stuff to bitch about. I didnt read what i wanted to, i read the OP's post and the rest that followed. He didnt EARN anything but an honest post of yes i think the guests are to easy, with an "oh i just click this way point into the nav comp and set AP and wait, get there kill yada yada and set the WP and AP to go home" or no its like this because 1) there are so many freaking star systems in that game it would take you forever to find where you were going if you didnt have the nav system with WPs or 2) didnt know there was a search option for a star system on the map page.

He didnt come here looking for someone to help him, he had friends for that. he was posting an opinion that i agree with. I came here to post that i did and asked why all the hostility for a post. the only time i see hostility is if its a fanboi and they QQ more then anyone actually complaining about "the game" whatever that game maybe.

i know i read some posts that read "this game sucks" and thats it. to me they should of just stayed logged out of the forums and the game and got a life. but someone who is asking a question, even a dumb one, doesnt need to get his shit jumped by fanbois.

Ever try a mission with a higher level than one? Did you ever attempt to train ANY skills? How about leave the newbie sector of space? Buy stuff? Get involved in politics? No? Of course it'll be boring, it's like playing WoW and just running around Stormwind for 2 weeks doing the easiest , stupidest quests you can find (I mean.. WoW is boring enough after you leave Stormwind too :P).

Please, try to pick up on the spelling a bit and less ellipsis' before you come back.
