Hmmm... No Fallen Earth? :p I know, too many games coming out in short order. However, I dont think that SGW is worth putting at the top. Sorry to anyone offended by that. Anyway... Why 6, and not 5? Or 10? Or 7 for that matter? :P |

Stargate Worlds is still an upcoming MMORPG? It might not have been officially cancelled yet, but it looks pretty bleak. And what about The Chronicles of Spellborn? Or were you afraid that that one could release before you finished the video, hence making it obsolete? |

Earthrise? Fallen Earth? Tera?

Two there should be; no more, no less. One to embody the power, the other to crave it. |
I voted for Star Wars: The Old Republic. |

Mortal Online and Earthrise should be on there. |

I voted for SWOR, as I hope it will show the same promise that SWG orignally had that was butched like a 1890s London Nightwalker. Secondary is Aion and STO. Mainly because Aion looks pretty bad+choice of explictive and I grew up loving Star Trek. My first posters as a kid were schematics of the Enterpise NCC-1701 and a Klingon Bird of Prey AC - The Brute lvl 85 macer -HG (retired) |

Definetly Aion. TOR is to story driven and very catering to star wars fans and not the general MMO community. |

Ex wow players never die, they just come to MMORPG.com to bitch |
Judging from past history, most MMOs launched seem to screw up their releases and suffer from irrdemable technical flaws. So the true answer should be "whichever one ends up being playable". At the moment, I'd suspect that's more likely to be Aion than any of the others on the list. |

Angry Joe, I enjoyed your perspective on upcoming MMOs, only where and when is Part two coming out? Also I fear that SGW is done for and not due to Developer incompetence, but due to the Financial Backer's own sorted business dealings. The SGW game may eventually end up being tied into all the legal proceedings which is a shame. I will wait to vote until I see Part Two of this video Series.

Considering how well polished Aion is currently, I predict that it will have one of the smoothest releases in NA this year. Besides hype, games with minimal issues at launch (LoTR is one) generally affect their overall ratings in the long run (Vanguard, primary example of how a great game turns bad). |

He put Aion in there, which is also released but not in the US. |

You can already read reviews of Aion from people playing it now. I have no interest in it.
Old Republic wins hands down. Star Wars IP, from the makers of KOTOR, and using the Hero Engine. The devs will have to get drunk and spend all the development money on hookers (or turn into a crappy item mall) for this one not to work. |

I got my money on WoW still being better than all of those games. ------------------------------------------------- EKSA |

So they call you Angry Joe , huh ? Man you are not nearly angry enough. If you ever go near MMO industry you are going to explode. I mean you are going for Vulcanic eruption of mega anger.
The MMO industry is in all time low right now. The games published are either scams , unfinished plagiates of WOW or unfinished plagiates of WOW that are also scams. And right now there is so much scams and plagiates that even developers got tired of it so they are not planning on developing so many in next 5 years. The "Next" MMO that might (and i underline might) be any good is Star Wars Online. But it aint comming out until 2011.. So you are bound for at least year and half of real anger and dissapointment...
As I said. You are going to learn about anger , young padawan

That part with the Enterprise vs a Star Destroyer was absolutely classic! Those 2 MMOs will be the ones to watch as far as I'm concerned as I've had it up to my eye balls with Elves and Pixies and such. I've already done the Superhero thing in CoX as well. Right now I'm putting a little more faith in Star Trek Online only because their story driven (or "Episodic" as they call it) content just seems to be set up a little better than SW:TOR. I will definitely try both games but out of the two I think STO will win out for me as I've always been a huge Trek nerd.
Great show though, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on your website for future webcasts including part 2 to this epic win of a MMO showdown. Keep up the good work!

I voted for Star Wars: The Old Republic. Due to the fact, When it comes out it will be the one to beat. Seems like the only well rounded upcoming MMORPG in the next couple of years. When we get back from where we are going, we will return to where we were. I know people there! |

Well to start with 3 of those won't be this year and a good chance not next year either. Those are DC Universe, Star Trek Online and Star Wars of the New Republic(not Star Wars Online) Star Wars of the New Republic is a 2012 release. As to Stargate Worlds, if this game makes it to release it will shock many of us. It is in it's death throes at the moment. So that leaves you two games to choose from Aion or Champions Online. Both should be out this year, Aion is Fantasy and Champions of course of the Hero genre. Depends on what you like. Personally I would pick one of the existing games out there. Lord of the Rings online is good, so is Eve. World of Warcraft is not bad either. I did not like any of the new games released last year, they all seemed quite lacking. If you need free, I suggest looking at either Runes of Magic or Perfect World, both decent games that cost nothing if that is your desire. |
