I'm curious to know that of all the jaded, worn-out or otherwise MMOers here whats the most amount of time invested into an MMO before hitting the cancel button . Don't have to give reasons for cancelling, just how many days (or even years!). Just a guestimate for me, but I put in about 300 hours into Guild Wars (not sure that can be cancelled).
Had to remove signature because of lame code of conduct... |

erm my wow time is like nearing 100days
edit: thats about 2500hours across all chars Playing polished, lag free, feature complete games is carebear. Whining about a game you hate but still play is hardcore man! |

26 months was the most and that was in CoH/CoV never fully cancelled tho just let the sub run out. quickest tho was asheron's call 2.. only took me 2 hours in to decide to cancel

I played Ultima Online for 6 years. Closest game to that is WoW which has been on and off since Nov 2004. |

Invested 3 years of my life to WOW, had 70's and had several guilds. Quite the game deleted my game and all my Chars, but not before giving all my gold and guild to a happy noob in the game. |

My longest was 5 years in EQ.......Since then my longest has never been more than 6 months. |

RF online (pre-item shop, Codemasters version). I lasted 3 years, and would have kept going but they had announced it was going f2p and with an item shop. So I quit in disgust. I miss those crazy once every 4 hour Chip Wars, where 200+ players would battle it out for mining rights to best mining area. I miss the mayhem. |

5 - 1/2 years SWG, would still be there if they rolled back to pre NGE. And don't worry, my flame suit is more than adequate. :) |

I dont think of my time playing an MMO based on the in game /played time. I think of it in terms of my life. HOw long did I play a game for 1 yr, 2 yr more? MOst time I played a game, probably was DAOC 3 yrs, followed by WoW for 2 and EQ for 2 yrs as well |

Six years for me was UO 98-04. Second was SWG for about a year. Haven't found anything to catch my interest for more than a month or two since then.

I played Infantry about 22 months, though much of that was when the game was officially in "beta" even though it was more polished than most released games. I played Guild Wars about 19 months, though that doesn't have a notion of cancelling, as it's not a subscription game. The longest I've subscribed to a game was A Tale in the Desert, for probably around 18 months. |

That would have to be WoW. I am afraid to think of what my /played time would read. |

Probably 2.5 to 3 years in CoX.
If you are an altohaulic like myself this game is crack!!!! I finally had to give it up. Say hello, To the things you've left behind. They are more a part of your life now that you can't touch them. |

EQ1 for 5 yrs then off and on ever since and still buying every expac aswell along the way. |

I put thousands of hours into SWG and PS. I put in a few hundred in EQ2 beta and World of Warcraft. I've also put in 400 or so hours into EVE Online. |
