I noticed players advertising on the forums selling characters. Even high end, rare crafting items are being sold not to be found in the game, only on live gamer.

Vanguard has a cash shop now/Live Gamer/RMT whatever you want to call it. |

You are missing a bunch of other posts on how LiveGamer is completely dead and the community wants nothing to do with it. There have been a lot of threads in MMORPG about this basically saying LiveGamer was dead before it started in Vanguard because there was no RMT market to begin with unlike mass-market MMOs. |

The first Link is about a player posting his char Warrior for sale on the SOE forums, using livegamer. Second about someone looking for a crafted item and the only way to get it, is to spend $40 USA. Players are buying in game money for real cash. It has started, and SOE is letting it happen on the SOE message boards.

VG has thousands of players? |

..2007 they did |

Do those games let people sell their characters on the official forums? Just wait for the free 30 day come back they give out now and then. You have to have an active account to sell, all those that left are going to try to sell with in that time period. |

I would say, very few people are interested in buying or selling stuff in VG with the current player base. Perhaps new players maybe but the large majority have multiple alts, tons of cash, what on earth do they need to buy them as well. Thats half the fun in VG, multiple alts. Money is easily made via harvesting. Now playing: Vanguard SOH |

Not necessarily, You see each character can only choose 1 of 6 crafting professions, so you make alts to cover for each profession. They have a lot of stuff you can do. Smith = Weaponsmith or Armorsmith Artificier = Weapons (with gems) or Jewelry (Ship building materials a subskill or house building materials a subskill) Outfitter = Cloth armor or Leather armor |

I can understand crafting alts however. |

Actually there is enough content to have multiple alts go through orginial things in each pass.. There are so many options in the game you can play multiple characters and have a unique experiece for each one.. The replayablility is awesome. And thats for adventurers. |

I agree, you see the problem is, people like to go to places where it has at least some people there to group up. So then they miss out on all other places to grind for adventuring, There's more than one dungeon you can go to for all tiers. With the equipment you now have, it should be cake walk soloing them, that is until you reach a group based boss. The quests are fun to do as well you learn a lot of lore and get some decent rewards. I personally like Dargun's Tomb, a dungeon for low to late 30's. Its quite often skipped because not a lot of people go there, and going to Vol Tuniel or Thelaseen is more popular for their armor quest sets. But there's a nice weapon quest in Dargun's Tomb to do, better than the ones given out in Vol Tuniel. |

What I'm getting at is in terms of adventuring content, yes lvl 1 - 40 you have enough to do (only took a good year or so to get it right). But once you reach 45+, you slowly start to reach the limitations of the game in terms of adventuring. Majority of the high end content are faction grinds = boring. RI, ToT, BoD, SoD, Griffon quest line, that's all you have . There are numerous players who don't want to go through the "alt phase" and keep having to make newer chars to enjoy the game (i happen to be one of them if you have noticed). Just me personally, I don't see the game as a long term solution to some gamers when they ask me. And it doesn't make me a hater or anything just I can't lie to someone who doesn't know better and wants an honest opinion. I say that if you're looking for a game that you can dive in and play for the next 4-6 years, I can't say this will fit the bill, especially if expansions are in question. |

Sorry OP but Live Gamer is dead in the water at present concerning VG. There's hardly any items/characters for sale and only a few plat auctions have any bids. Here is a link for the VG auction site below. https://exchange.livegamer.com/vanguard/ I'm big enough to admit I was wrong on the effects Live Gamer would have on VG and I was one of the first to speak out against it's implementation in VG. |

So the stagnat game has a dead cashshop? Way to win an arguement. BTW, how much has the VG developement staff grown over the past year or two. Down to what, 4 developers now, yes? |

As for the alt vs. main discussion above. If you play a few hours a week like me, you could have played since release and still not have completed the content, especially if you elect to level in the crafting and diplomacy spheres. If people play hard-core then alts are a lot of fun because the classes are very unique and you can level to 50 again and not do the same content twice until you get to level 45. Unless someone is playing really hard-core, there is no way they can consume content faster than it's being released. For example, it was just last week when the first person completed the all the Shores of Darkness quest lines. |

Where you there in the beginning? When the players was receiving double xp on the weekends? Do you know they had to put a small box for clicking off xp? Thats how bad it was, people was leveling faster then they could the quest. The whole game is very unbalanced, so please stop with the hardcore stuff, you have no idea what your talking about. Go play EQ2 and then compare it with VG, EQ2 gets 1000 times more updates then VG does. VG is game filler for their station pass titles, and it will always be a game filler. Â |

I've played since release, and I was there in the beginning when they were really struggling. I remember the double exp weekends well and the free play months all over the place. Since then they've slowed the exp curve and they've added the no exp ability so that friends don't out-level those that they play with. Since then, they've added Ancient Port Warehouse, overland mobs, Bridge of Destiny and Isle of Gazamut. There are very, very few raid guilds that have conquered all of this raid content. For those that like to raid this had brought entire raid guilds back to the game. There was a big gap between APW and all the new stuff that resulted in hard-core raiders to leave at that time. For non-raiders, I don't know what else to say. I've played for 2-years, mostly on 1 main and don't play hard-core. I still have plenty of stuff to do with my main. That said, Pantheon of the Ancients, the level cap increase and alternate abilities are around the corner which will be the biggest content addition to date. |

This game is not meant to be played for long term, it just a fortune cookie after you eat your main meal. Â |
