Just wanted to alt+tab out of the game for a minute to comment on how fantastically implemented the character creation in this game is.  After playing CoH all other creation screens have always felt a little underwhelming.  This is a big step in the direction of removing one of the worst aspects of most mmo's.

Here's to all characters not looking the same.  Other than the 2,437 Sephiroths.

I wish I could make more than 3 toons per server, just to play around with it more.

I hope more game Dev's will take this approach to Character creation in future games.

I have to agree with the customization.  That was one of the HUGEST problems I had with Lineage 2....I looked like every other char!

Also to note is you get to choose how the character sounds, and I just love the emotes in the game.

The character creation system in Aion is almost perfect, considering a majority of details

i noticed the darker fraction (Asmodians) all have a mohawk running down their backs that ends almost as a tail and clips through all armor. a complete turnoff for me. i was going to play that fraction too cuz i like the darker side.  i'm praying to whatever god there might be that the Elyos don't have this terrible back-hair. can any1 confirm that the Elyos aren't foby hicks with that really bad mullet?

Elyos do not have that.  I actually wasn't aware that the Asmodians did.

If you want an unique character in a great MMO go play Spellborn instead of Aion in Korean.

i can't wait for the day an mmo is released where u can take a picture of your own face, upload it and paste it onto your mmo character's head. lololol there'd be alot of ugly ppl running around, except me ofcourse.

ohno wait, the day when u can set up a web cam and continually portray your face, current expressions and all, onto your cyber self!!  omg, omg!

can some1 pay me now? awesome ideas like these aren't free.

Can't speak for anyone else but I'm not playing anything in Korean.  I'm still playing Aion though.  Just not in Korean.

Arrowotwood.

Aion´s character creation if far (far) superior than Spellborn´s character creation. Characters in Aion are much more unique.

Aion is also more polished, sophisticated and run better... Spellborn has some good ideas, but Aion is a superior game production, it doesnt matter "where" you play them.

Spellborn looks horrible i wouldnt play that even if it was f2p

yup, the character creation in Aion is a epic step in mmorpg.

BTW, why u have to click alt+tab to get out of the game? u could simply change Aion into windows mode ;)

I'm confused why you hate playing mmo in windowed mode. i feel windowed mode is much more convenient, right?

The character models are odd at first, but really, they fit into the whole atmosphere and setting of the game. The landscape on the other hand, doesn't look too bad, neither do the particle effects. Later on in the game the areas get way more immersive and impressive looking than most of Parliment (Hawksmouth and the other low areas, not sure about the higher areas there).

It's not up there with Aion, AOC, or LoTRO, but the atmosphere and the originality of the visual style are appealing to me, at least. No doubt Aion is easier on the eyes, tho.

i think your idea is very interesting, but i think it will be very ugly to single put a real picture on the characters, even this person is very pretty. i think mmo can insert a software that can automatically use 3d tech to make a face onton the characters according to one's pictures. so players can avoid borther creating one's own face for not all the players can really grasp the creation fuction. then ppl can play a face similar to (more beautiful) one's own. its cool i think.
