I played a lot of MMO's when I was younger. I am 22 years old now. Do you think Iam too old to play MMO's. What is the average age of everyone here? |

You are only too old if you think you are too old. Can go with a lot of things. I'm going to be 42 in 10 days. And I do play mmo's. I also keep them in perspective as I don't expect any life changing moments nor do I think one should spend all their time playing them. |

I don't think you are. I'm 20 and I still play - not as much as before but it seems to be the genre that appeals to me the most. Solid single player RPGs are few and far between anymore, so I turn to MMOs for good immersion, customization, and character development.
I think you're only too old for MMOs when you feel like you're too old for video games in general. It's only another genre of video games, after all. |

Way too old. Like, ancient. Like... You might have a 4 year degree if you started right out of high school. Christ... Do you use a walker? :P Any bad hips? I am surprised that you can type with the Parkinsons that is more than likely setting in by now... Seriously though, there are a crap ton of 25+ people, and many in their 30s. Getting into the 40+ territory is pretty uncommon, but I think that is because of the interests of that generation, and not because they are "too old". I am going to assume that when I hit 40 or above, that I will still be gaming, because I grew up with games. My parents (now in their 50s) would not dream of playing the games, because they grew up playing stick ball and walking 20 miles uphill each way in the snow with shoes that are 20 years old and had no laces. |

Hell no! Mid 30's here and still going strong... :) |

47 - been playing mmos for 10 years
I did not even start MMOs until my mid 30s |

Last study that I saw on MMOGers was that the average age was 28. So no, you're not too old. You might have to look for different games though, especially if your free time has reduced considerably compared to your teen years. The casual-friendly mindset is becoming more and more mainstream, so it's not hard to find a game that you can enjoy regardless of how often you play. |

There is a very nice size population of MMOers out there that are 30+. I am 29, my gf is 38 and we both play. She just recently got into it while I been playing for 10 years. It is an entertainment medium. You stop playing when you stop having fun. Simple as that |

I'm 61 and don't plan on quiting playing until they pry the mouse from my cold dead hands. :) I've played MMOs since the Kunark exp for EQ, and computer games since the Radio Shack TRS Model 1, 4K memory, cassette recorder for storage. |

Just wondering what made you even think you are to old, I am 37 but don't feel to old for MMORPG but will say this that not all MMORPG's appeal to me. So what was it that made you think you are to old when you not even in the common age group of gamers which is 28+/30+, especialy with a genre like this. ------------------------------------------------------------ |

46 - why would you ever stop unless you just can't play anymore or you no longer find it enjoyable. A couple bucks a month (i.e. $15.00) plus internet service... ...a better entertainment value than cable even... |

Its not that your to old. Its that your not really a targuet audience at this pointe. They make the's games for 14 year olds now.

I'm 57 and feel that most of you are too YOUNG to play the games. |

To me this question is the same as, Am I to old to play music?........ which is no. Ehh you're never to old to play games, Ive met people in there 50's on mmo's and i used to play DnD with people in there 60's, im 26 btw. The only way that you could possibly be to old is if you're so old, you can't see the monitor or use the mouse and keyboard. I say do what you love as long as you can, there is nothing wrong with that in my book.
