1. Make a game with really poor programming skills and mediocre gameplay, label it PvP and hype it up to be more hardcore than anything. Ever.

2. Diss WoW and use words like "themepark" any time Blizzard is mentioned in a positive light.

3. Launch your game on a single server, and call it launched.

4. Open up the account management page and double bill some people. Play it off as "hardcore".

5. Close new signups because the server can't take any more.

6. Wait for people to hack, or get accussed of hacking. Ban them.

7. Open up the same number of spots you just banned showing you're allowing more people into the game.

8. Every time your server crashes due to bad programming and layout, blame it on a hardware failure. Most players don't know that servers are redundant in multiple areas including power, memory, RAID, etc, so they will happily accept this.

9. Never update your main webpage because it will cost something to do that.

10. Go back to #6 and repeat contantly until you make enough money or people don't buy your bullshit any more.

You should work for Tasos the Great Third.

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

To Mr. OP, why you're preaching to the choir?  Most people on MMORPG already know about all this about Darkfall.

If only aventurine were capable of coming up with a business model and sticking to it. Though some of the points were probably more about how DF turned outand how Lord Tasos tried to salvage this wreck.

All we have now though is a closed pay to play beta, which we don't know how many people are in the game or whether new accounts or due to increased network capacity or simply replacing the old ones. But I didn't expect AV to become a good company suddenly overnight after release.

Darkfall is a perfect example of low people will lower their expectations when they brainwash themselves over years of hyping the game.

It's actually a sad state of affairs.

Retarded devs = eventual retarded ideas = continued retarded business practices = failed game that you and everyone else playing has wasted money on.

Might actually want to learn what a RAID is and how it works before you start acting like you know what you're talking about.  Though I do agree about the shitty business model.

Uhm, on high end servers, if you go to HP and choose say, the ML model lines, you have dual RAID controllers that provide redundancy. This is what I do for a living, but thanks for talking down to me.

I think the part I quoted is missing in your business model.

Send a few people to your own and different other forums working with a lot of accounts and let them repeat the same arguments that you told them in order to get new clueless players into your game and lower the rate of eventual scared off potential customers.

Use pointless arguments if you can't find any real arguments like:

" this is Sparta hardcore" "this game is not for you", "indie company", "Tasos said...", "go back to wow" ,"you didn't even played the game", "troll", " (insert random game flaw) was intended", "09er" ,"sandbox game", "carebear"...

This sounds like a conspriracy theory, but for some reason there are always some accounts who start flaming anything that is criticizing the obvious flaws of this game. Its not only flaming it is even screwing/negating a bad fact into a good, like empty world lacking of pve mobs was intended because of more place for "full loot pvp".

Caution: Game May Cause Care Bears To Populate Forums

I think the OP ment:

1# Make a awesome game.

2# let the players have fun.

3# Watch carebears whine on forums.

4# Laugh at them.

The thing is this, noone i know have had any problems getting the game. And they have a lot more fun now then when they played WoW. So its pointless to whine here.

Damn I forgot "carebear" in my pointless argument list, will add it!

Anyway why do you CARE what the OP posted? Bored so much of the game, that you CARE about posting in a non-official forum about a thread that is pointless whining in you eyes?
