Title says it all
P.S. If you don't have the system to play this DX10 monster ... don't hate the game ... hate the player.

Indeed and there is a free trial in case you do not believe the OP. Being Back does not make it perfect, patch 1.05, which will be released soon(few weeks) will address the itemisation in the game. That will be the last of the major patches to bring the game up to speed. After which we can look forward to pvp enhancements and what ever they have in store for us in the up coming expansion. Currently playing WoW. |

Im a previous hater. I LOVE the game now. Download the freetrial and join us! The box is out at a reduced price now too if you should decide to sub |

all well and good but nobody wants a trial. they want to have free time on their already existing accounts to see if content has been added where they quit, and maybe some CE items that were as advertised. and well, that apology. satisfy those criteria and most (I will atleast) will be likely to try it out.
i dont need a trial where I can get to...level 20...remember that bit before about the launch? LOL the idea is just ludicrous Playing polished, lag free, feature complete games is carebear. Whining about a game you hate but still play is hardcore man! |

Why let vets come back now, while gear, stats, attributes and skills still mean jack sjit? It's better to have that addressed first with applying patch 1.05 to live and then reinviting old players back to the game. Not to mention that Commons District will be launched then too, wich fixes the last content gap. That way they will have a much higher chance of getting old players to resub again. Just my 2cents When www met dot , they then stumbled upon Secret Society , wich happened to be a Guild , wich in turn told dot about the net . |

I dont recall an apology which adressed the gms and cms jackassery, nor the lies.
BUt yeah a will return on a vet trial, i spent so much buying the fucking game itd be stupid not to. but i wont partake in a trial in which i could see the already 'tweked to make the game look like its not shit' content only, and not the part where I got to where it all fell apart Playing polished, lag free, feature complete games is carebear. Its still not right! Everyone still look boring and bland. They have this amazing grahic engine and then they use it to make people look more boring than a game from 2001. Its not really that bad that items still dont mean much, if you had them make you look cool instead and then relied on character skill to make the difference in power and ability. But items are both meaningless AND boring to look at and the next patch only remove the meaninlessness. |

Hmm I disagree. I play AoC with graphics setting on max and on my 27" monitor I can see the detail in the leather banding used to wrap my sword handle and bow. When my HoX pulls his sword and strikes he grimaces and grunts, same with my ranger, are you watching their faces when ur avatar fights? What game do you think looks better cause I would like to try it? |

No, the title doesn't say it all. What's so "right" about it this time? What was fixed? The last I recall, AoC was a miserable piece of crap, so it's going to take more than a wink and a "trust me" to get me playing it again. |

Originally posted by riceae02 Its not about better looking graphics, its about looking good and unique. One of the key elements in the Hyboria IP is the amazing looks of people and places. The places they got right but the people are bland and boring to look at. You wear you sack of potatoes as a ranger until lvl 80 and then you will after some time look like every other ranger with your class armor. . . . boring. They had 1500 different armor SETs in the game from the start. Why didnt they allow the players to choose and select for themselves how they wanted to look. The toon bodies after all is quite good looking and some fitting gear to put over it would have been nice, gear that marked you as an individual. Look at a simple game like TCoS. Gear there is for looks and have very little impact on the outcome of the game but people look cool even with the simpler graphics. So no one complains about the little impact gear has even though its actually technically much worse than it ever was in AoC.

Well technically they are in a good state: The memory leaks are gone. There is no gap of quests anywhere anymore so no more villa grinding. The endgame PvP actually works now. There is PvP xp and PvP rewards. Lots of endgame dungeons but I dont like raiding so . . But dont bother with going back until at least after patch 1.05 where they revamp the entire core of mechanics and all the item systems and the crafting system. And even then you still have the "sack of potatoes" problem in the game. |

Lol you said "assume" ... I'm not even gonna go there.
Enjoy some other game then ... I hope you did not buy AoC yet because for you it was a terrible waste of $50 bucks if you did. |

I also have to strongly disagree. I think there are many sources here on mmorpg.com and even outside of mmorpg.com that suggests the need for free trials. The same goes hand and hand with revaluation periods for players who tried the game and well did not like it due to issues or simply game design. Thus it's important to us to provide these trials based on the feedback as well giving gamers a way to try a game for FREE rather than other needs. Age of Conan wont be for everyone and there will be issues with our game just like every other game out there. The launch issues we had are things we have been focused on crushing and as you can see from a number of feedback threads out there that the issues I speak of have becomed addressed more and more with each update. As for game design or style of flavor with any game, not just ours, that will always be there because everyone has their own opinions on what the perfect MMO is to them. :)

That's what all stupid trolls do. ASSUME. They played the game a couple weeks a year ago, don't read, follow, or whatever to catch up on the game. They just keep blindly trolling the game without anything to back it up. Cheers When www met dot , they then stumbled upon Secret Society , wich happened to be a Guild , wich in turn told dot about the net . |

Then why on earth are you looking at this thread? The only reason is to see what is fixed?? and as it is not here you can't be bother to go and look for it elsewhere Not a waste of money, more like, more money then sense........................ Currently playing WoW. |

I think that Gautes original vision about a game where skill meant everything and gear meant little was a good idea, the game just failed to do it right. Heroes in Hyboria are not heroes because they have a magic sword or an armor of invulnerability V. They are heroes because they wield a blade, cast a curse or charm the king. And they all look cool while doing it. Problem was that gear still meant a lot when it came to defense rating and base DPS so gear still became an issue and then the other vision about gear having very small impact on other things than the two game elemenent mentioned caused a lot of disatisfaction. Now if they had made it so DPS scaled with your lvl and armor always just absorbed a fixed amount of any lvl of damage then the other problem wouldnt have been an issue either. Thats what you see in TCoS atm and it works! Then people could get their really nice mail shirt that flaunted their personal attributes and keep that armor until something different cool came along and they wouldnt have to worry about hunting for new gear and how it would destroy their looks as they lvled up. Instead of putting in gear as carrots then you should have put in personal special skills that you could work towards at the endgame. Secret masters that taught you better spells or secret combat techniques. And you would have stayed true to the logic of the IP and avoided the disatisfaction with the gear system and ensured that people could actually enjoye the amazing graphic engine you created. |

I was hoping to get a player's point of view (afer all, that's how I'd be approaching the game myself - as a player). If the players of the game, inclusing the creator of this thread, can't give me one good reason why I should play the game, why should I play the game? They say it's great, they refuse to say why it's great, and if anyone disagrees, they call them a "stupid troll." Such obvious fanboyism isn't a very good sign. How about you? I assume you're a fan of the game. Can you tell me what's changed? Can you tell me why the game is worth playing now? |
