This is going too far, i suggest using an alternative forum for AOC rather than using the official one where any discussion is locked by a power trip mod. Anything posted against FC gets locked and anything posted to make them looks good is left alone. Watch out from using the official forum cause it's not a good place where to gather infos about the game. Thanks.

I am sort of glad that the idiots get so swiftly cut down, but it does get a bit sterile in the end I must admit. Guess that's why I'm posting more here than on the AoC boards.

Umm. Go look me up on the official forums. Notice 90% of my posts from launch are posts that should have been modded. Heck even today i get away with posting stuff i honestly shouldn't from time to time.

Actually, on a forum that is OWNED by the very company who runs the game, you don't have a right to do whatever you want on it.
There are terms and conditions that you agree to when you sign up and log into it.  
It's Funcoms property, they can do with it how they please.  And neither you nor I can do anything about it.
Don't like it?  Then don't post.

Beside, "freedom of speech" is a phrase that is often overused by the deliberately ignorant.

Its like claiming how no one actually owns land on this planet and therefore you should be able to let your dog crap on someones lawn whenever you like.

No wonder these game owners do what they want since their players are such idiots. I pay for that game and i use the forum, if you don't like the way your paying players use it then shut it down. Think of an official game forum as private property. You walk onto it an trash their stuff and you will be penalized. You obviously have no idea how the internet works.  You want to bitch about the game come here. Don't expect a warm welcome though. These are shark infested waters.

but the difference between FC and (clears throat) other forums......is that FC might actually read the posts...and take action where flamers are present......

Official forums... Yeah they are there to serve a purpose.
Most (if not all) are run and funded by the PR-dept. budget - What do you expect?

Some decisions may seem strange on the official AoC boards but hey... Most of their marketing ethics seem rather weird in hindsight. :)
The decision to let 20+ people post derogatory/imflammatory responses towards a poster expressing mild annoyance/questioning the game while most negative posts get locked within an hour/3-5 responses does seem strange and quite unique to AoC official forums.

Personally I dropped the official forums much sooner than I cancelled my sub. The euro-mod may plaster kittens all over the place - Does not mean she is not a (something bad) with a vengeance.

And yes - I skip as soon as I see this Amorey person posting :)

I vote that this thread be renamed to "Stupid gets banned from official AoC forum and comes to mmorpg.com"

The entire thread was just a troll/flame bait waiting to happen... Or the information asked for (by the funcom rep) would have been given.

At least from my perspective not many MMO's have a rep show up here asking for that kind of info and appear to be willing to look into it.

By not giving the info and giving the response that was given.

It just makes it look like:

1) There was no thread and the person was just trying to create drama "here".

2) They know why the thread was closed and/or deleted etc  and for obvious reasons don't want to link it.

Anyone who was upset about what is alleged to have happened (thread closed with no violation) would have at least provided what was asked for...  It at least gives the appearance that what was claimed might have happened and actually gives a chance for explinaiton... fixing an issue if one exists etc... or to prove your point if you actually have one.

You pay for the game? So what, numbnuts? They can still ban you for breaking the rules in the game, just like they can and will ban you for breaking the rules on the forums. When you made an account, you agreed to abide by their rules and their rules are for the most part the same rules most, if not all, official forums use. If you're too stupid to realize that everything you do, in life an on the internet, can be punished if you don't obey the rules and act like the dimwit that you are now, then live in the shack in the middle of the woods. Guys give the OP a break. You know, and I know you know, that the AoC forums is probably one of thee worst forums ever to exist on the internet. The forums are a lot like the game itself. Corrupt mods and GMs, mass censorship, forced discussions, altered posts..ect  I have seen many times the abuse of mods on those forums, and if any of you are not tools, you would see it too. I ran a 200+ person guild in AoC back when it was partially popular, one of my officers was banned from the forums for pointing out a hidden nerf that was not in the patch notes after a recent patch. I was with a group of guild members when we saw a GM helping another guild farm gold and resources. One of our guys took a ton of SS's of a GM actually joining in, using their abilities to help cheating within the game for that guild. He put it on the forums and was then banned from the game as well as the forums. Anyone remember the incident where a GM tried to cyber with a player because they thought the player was a girl? That wasnt any of our guild members, but it goes to show that the people running Funcom and running the game AoC are clowns. They are corrupt, lazy, and go on random power trips. The forums are just another area in which shady actions are taking place.

Then please provide some proof for those claims. No one is above the law per say, not even myself. If there are sources which proves that actions are being taking that are not within the guidelines of the forum then I will look into it and correct the matter. However, I need somewhere to start first.
