That is nuts.  Must be your area.  I was in Wal-Mart two days ago and BustBuy today.  I know for a fact that they both had EQ2 because I almost bought one at each place.   All four of the bestbuy stores near me have two full racks of PC games.  When all else fails, visit their website or better yet, go to Amazon.com  The price you pay in shipping is about the price you'd pay in expenses driving your car around.  Besides, I've never had to pay full price for a game at Amazon.com, and that includes new releases.

*edit*  Hell, even Target here has a ton of PC games.

Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware

"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."

Between Steam and Amazon I can't tell you how much I've saved on games compared to buying them at a store.

Why would they? Lets face it, they can't really compete. They threw their muscle around when digital distribution first started to keep prices the same as their stores, but they've given up. It's really simple.

1: Pricing. They really can't compete. Digital has far less overhead obviously. The Steam sales and stuff kill the prices in stores. Especially with MMOs where they get an expansion box that they leave priced at $40 when the game has long since dropped to $10.

2: Trades: Gamestop makes all their money on used crap, and it's all they care about anymore. You can't trade PC games. That's the bottom line.

3: Interest: Lets face it, most PC users, unless they want the box, get their games digitally now. Even then, most people get their boxes from Amazon or somesuch.

So yeah, I can't see why they would want to stock them.

It'd be funny if this were sarcasm.

I bought EQ 2 for £3 (Bargin!) a couple of months back at a HMV store a couple of months back. Too bad the code doesn't work haha.

Both here in western Pennsylvania and back in Delaware, Wal-Mart has an fair selection of games, but GameStop has half a rack. But I guess I am part of the reason-- now that in-game items are included, I buy my SOE products directly from the station store, and if I want the physical trinkets, I go to an online retailer to buy a box. Amazon + newegg are the two places I shop for pretty much all the physical merchandise I buy online.

Please note, the age of the game you are atempting to buy, they do not keep every game made from the beginning of time in stores, especialy in this day and age.

Amazon.com,  ftw...

Online shopping is the best.  Where else can one shop in their PJ's or undies and not get arrested?

Who cares? Digital downloads are infinitely better. Also, don't be one of the angry pc gamers who are crying over eb not giving pc games a wall to itself. I've seen so many morons at ebgames crying over this it's hilarious. I once saw this guy who looked like he was going to cry complaining about eb taking down the pc wall and only devoting only a shelf space to them. He was seriously angry and was even starting to get insulting to the clerk because he wanted his oh so precious pc games to have their own wall.

As much as I prefer pc gaming over console gaming, I gotta say....some pc gamers are just pathetic loners with a low self esteem that make me ashamed to even tell anyone I like playing pc games.

What I don't get is why Gamestop opens the PC games. I was there yesterday and there were two copies of Sword of the New World and both of them had the seal on top broken. I feel sorry for the person who buys these games and finds out the CD keys are probably used already.
