Hello everyone,
I just started the trial and I've been pretty impressed with the look and feel of Warhammer so far. Two questions: 1. I'm considering playing a Squig (sp.) Herder and wanted to make sure they weren't gimp in endgame play (both PVE/PVP). It seems to be a pet/ranged attack class which is a fun playstyle imo. 2. What kind of addon support is there for Warhammer? (is there anything I need to know about if I'm to continue to play)
Thanks!

That is one great thing about WAR. The UI customization and add-on support is amazing. Simply place an add-on in the correct folder reload ui and you are good to go. As for squid herder i only played one to about level 12 or so. They are pretty good but they drop too fast for me personally. I've played chosen. ----------------------------- |

There is alot of add on support but I personally would avoid playing a Squig Herder try a couple classes to level 10 and find out what you like the most. |

Squig Herder is quite fun, as long as you try hard not to get agro from the enemy (run into range after the tanks and other dps) and pick your targets carefully (BW especially can go down really quickly). Give it a try up to around 20 and if you're still having fun then stick with the ugly little buggers :) |

My suggestion is to go to Prder, roll a character on Magnus and join us ! ;) White Lion ? also a pet class... Casual adult guild recruiting for Champions Online. No requirements, private vent, website at GUNBAD.COM |

Pff white lion, Smasha basha Waaaghh!!! Squig seems good to me, don't play one but seen loads, they are quite effective if you use strategy and your squigs effectively, some squigs even fight on after you died Sometimes 1+1 makes 3 |

Everyone has their favorite class or classes. Not easy to get a straight answer out of these guys. SH is a solid ranged Dps class with a pet. they can kite and have cool pet abilities like Squig armor. From the two rank 40 SH I know they swear by them.
Playing: EvE, Ryzom |

Pick any class but make SURE you pick a **BALANCED, POPULATED SERVER** WAR is based on PvP mechanics and that means you need other people to fight against. Low populated server are awful, I was on one after release and the game experience was very poor until I transfered. Also you don't want to pick an unbalanced server. If you're on the lower populated side, Scenarios won't run and you'll get butchered in oRVR. If you're on the higher population side, Scenarios won't run and you won't see the enemy much because they'll avoid fighting. Most servers are balanced (according to Mythic) just make sure to pick one that is as closely balanced as possible. |

Originally posted by Alienovrlord Alien is dead on here. As for your original question... I play a Witch Hunter and I have been killed lots by SH's, IF they are playing strategically and get me while I am busy on someone else. However, SH's go down probably the fastest of almost any class that I get the jump on. They also look like a really fun class to play imo. |

I've played both a squig herder and a shadow warrior. Many people say that SW's are gimp atm, but I've never had any issue with killing enemies. Squigs are fun to play but like many have said, they go down pretty fast unless you want to jump into your squig armor and lose your ranged attacks . . . a SW can just switch stances to increase armor and still have ranged attacks. The noises that SH's make when getting hit are funnier though. Also, what happens to be gimp in PVE / PVP can change with every patch. |

You can find add ons for WAR here. Squig herder is a very nice class. |

As with all games, you play what you want to play. Worrying about endgame is something you do when you actually reach it. As someone earlier has posted: Things change with each patch (1.2.1 is in testing, with quite some things in it). As for addons.....I'd say www.curse.com. Have a look at www.wardb.com as well, for a load of info on ingame stuff. ![]() |
