Game hopping since 2003.

CCP developers seem adept at providing things we never asked for or providing things that we asked for but so laden with catches that we wished we never asked for them. A skill queue that only works for skills shorter than 24 hours? And laser beam revamps was top of my want-list (!)

What happened to walking in stations?

The skill queue isn't intended to let you automate months of training.  As long as a skill starts within 24 hours, it can be as long as you want.  The whole point is to allow you to set your next training skill even if the current one ends at an inconvenient time.

Walking in stations is supposedly still under development, but I suspect that if it ever sees the light of day it's going to be one of those features that's cool for a few minutes but otherwise pointless.

I think WIS has potential to double+ the subs. Ya it will be pretty pointless to current subs, but I think it will bring new people into the galaxy that wont play now because your only a ship.

The skill queue is to get rid of the 4am alarm clock skill switching and it works beautifully for that, it does all that it needs to as for the effects revamp that was only part of the graphical upgrades. If you had spent any time keeping up on it you'd know that in order to support walking in stations they had to do a lot of further upgrades to the graphics engine over trinity, since they were getting rid of classic and were introducing the rest of the renovated models anyways, it made sense to update the effects at the same.

If you had half a brain you would realize that all of the graphics engine upgrades that have been introduced since trinity are required to lay the groundwork for WIS. Instead you chose to be ignorant...go you.

yes, you are still missing a lot.

ambulation is the most pointless thing ever, people who dont play eve now because they dont want to be a ship wont stay in eve even if you can get out of your ship, they'll complain theres nothing they can do in stations. its groundwork for planet based stuff, but pretty useless in the meantime.

The fact of the matter is, the meat and potatoes of eve is already there. What the OP speaks of is fluff.

Couple thinks. The Skill Queue wasn't designed to allow you to just rack up an entire 6 months skill plan. It was designed to help out new players, and allow you to avoid having to log on at 5 in the morning when your skill finishes at an inconvinient time. CCP wants to encourage you to log-on. That's why they didn't produce an unlimited skill queue.

As a long time player of this game, I absolutely love this feature.

Walking in stations is still happening. I believe it is slated for next winter expansion.
