Ok, after some initial problems i've made it to Tortage. For a reason the game got stuck at about 75% at "Reading content..." when i tried to enter the character creation. I barely remember that in beta, a dev once mentioned that certain stuff is getting compiled first when you enter the game or environments for the 1st time. Maybe this was it, however listening to the intro tune for like 6-7 times in a loop wasn't that entertaining and i could only hard reset my pc to get out of that loading screen.

Now, my first walkthrough to Tortage..of course i havent seen anything of the game yet, but i can already say that the performance made a huge leap. Running 1680x1050, everything to the max, every slider to the right the game runs totally smooth, barely ever dropping to a minimum of ~45fps. I couldn't hit that even on my old 17" in 1280x1024 at release.

The overall handling of my character and especially the now very fluid combat feels very "live and direct", means no hitching/stuttering/delay/whatever but direct response to my every input. One can argue about it, but at least by my experience this feature was primary reserved to WoW only so far. Being quite quick on the trigger, i like to see AoC now having "it" as well.

So, technically the game already feels very improved to me and i've got the feeling i'm in for an entertaining week in Hyboria.

Anyway problem has been solved (miscommunication on both our parts).  Support was helpful and prompt.  So +1 for them.

Going to give it a go now. Thanks.

How are you getting on Ebon?
