Don't throw in the towel just yet. I remember that when I came back to the game and activated my old account using a credit card that it took around 30m for the system to process all data. I would suggest waiting at least that long and if the problem is still occurring, then I suggest posting your issue at: http://forums-eu.ageofconan.com/forumdisplay.php?f=28
Hope everything works well in the end for you.

So you can download either the full client or the small Tortage client to access the trial. That still leaves open what the trial content consist of. Now if you can show a quote saying "you have access to the full game during the trial" that I may have missed somewhere, i'd love to see it since that would make the trial actually worth trying out. The big client is there to make it easy to subscribe after the trial. They do the same with Anarchy Online. A free account can download and use the full client which has all content, but you are still denied acces to anything more than what the free game entails. It is to make it easy for you to subscribe without having to download more. |

lol... Nah, I'm fairly stubborn when it comes to throwing in the towel... Anyway problem has been solved (miscommunication on both our parts). Support was helpful and prompt. So +1 for them. Going to give it a go now. Thanks. |

Oh man. You have access to the full game area with the trial: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/230881 People have the option of just Downloading the Tortage part instead of all 14GB to check the game out, if they want to progress the game will update via the patcher at level 20. This covers those ppl who just may want to take a peek, or see if performance is ok for them, and to get a quick glimpse.

As i'm typing this, i'm also installing the game to check out the trial and to see the changes made to the game. I left the beta in anger (sold my beta-acc on ebay to a poor fool), still gave the "final" game a try and left it cussing and swearing as well. I really would like to play the trial with my former characters (assuming they still exist somewhere), 7 days free for vets would be the better thing for me. However, the plan for tonight is to lead at last one char to Toratage before going to bed. Cheers everyone! |

Ok, after some initial problems i've made it to Tortage. For a reason the game got stuck at about 75% at "Reading content..." when i tried to enter the character creation. I barely remember that in beta, a dev once mentioned that certain stuff is getting compiled first when you enter the game or environments for the 1st time. Maybe this was it, however listening to the intro tune for like 6-7 times in a loop wasn't that entertaining and i could only hard reset my pc to get out of that loading screen. Now, my first walkthrough to Tortage..of course i havent seen anything of the game yet, but i can already say that the performance made a huge leap. Running 1680x1050, everything to the max, every slider to the right the game runs totally smooth, barely ever dropping to a minimum of ~45fps. I couldn't hit that even on my old 17" in 1280x1024 at release. The overall handling of my character and especially the now very fluid combat feels very "live and direct", means no hitching/stuttering/delay/whatever but direct response to my every input. One can argue about it, but at least by my experience this feature was primary reserved to WoW only so far. Being quite quick on the trigger, i like to see AoC now having "it" as well. So, technically the game already feels very improved to me and i've got the feeling i'm in for an entertaining week in Hyboria. |
