Just for everyones information, according to www.gameswarehouse.com.au, Aion - CE and Standard will be released in AUS on May 28th. Games Warehouse are a reputable company and generally are pretty accurate about thier dates.
There is no informatin yet as to what is actually in the CE (hopfully like a GW CE) but you can pre-order it (its in the top 10) and have a read.

Sorry, but it's not happening. If you pre-ordered from there, expect a email soon stating a push back to sometime in the Fall 09. They already stated at GDC this year in several interviews that Aion for NA/EU is at least 6 months off. Here's some info from one of them:

Ten Ton Hammer: That players will the first playable "vertical slice" of the game this side of the Pacific of the game at GDC is great news. Though the game is slated for a Fall 2009 release as per a recent communication from Liv, would you please give us an update on how the game is shaping up for release in North America and Europe?

Brian Knox, Producer: We've recently opened Aion to all NCsoft West employees and will be allowing limited external access to close family member and distribution partners. We're working on some basic/boring server infrastructure, patching, and auth integration. We're also aggressively working on the localization rewrite, with some very talented writers joining us over the past few weeks. Additionally, we're working on the specifics of all the non-game elements of the product, such as our web presence and customer service and operations tools. We've got a lot of work ahead, but we're in good shape and we're meeting our internal dates.

There are plenty more updates from GDC around about Aion that say pretty much the same thing. Things sound like they are going great though, inspite of the layoffs and restructering they went through.

now i'm confused. i JUST came from G4TV.com and they list a video and the day May 26. they had people at GDC. this article was just posted today. makes me wonder who's right.

Localization is done.  They are testing the client in-house now for bugs and errors that might have cropped up during translation. (confirmed by CM's posting over at AS)

Release date will be tied to how many if any bugs or issues they find, They might have set the 4Q date just to give themselves some leeway. It would not surprise me if the release is in 3Q.

The collector edition might have free upgrade wings included. (lvl30 or lvl45 wings) lvl45 wings cost 11.5 mil in game via NPC (KOR Retail). I think the koreans got free lvl30 wings for anyone that pre-ordered.

Don't believe in the date unless it comes from either an NCsoft official or the official website/AionSource. Every other date is just an estimate and an approximation. And not a good one even, since community managers have officially stated Fall-09.

Also, if they had said officially that may 26 was the date, don't you think that'd have generated quite some buzz in the community ;)

Wait for an official statement and don't get your hopes up.

Because there is no beta, since this game has long launched in Asia already. This should ring a bell in your head that they are not working on the actual game mechanics anymore ey =p.

For everyone else: May 26th is an inaccurate date for Aion's RELEASE. For Preview Events, however, it might be a good estimate! :)

i have beta'ed many many games and alot of them have been from Kr and all of them have had a beta just cause a game came out somwhere else first doesnt mean it wont have beta. the fact that you would say that proves you havent beta'ed many games at all so. if your gunna try to put someone down atleast know what your talking about.

lol easy on ur horsy there, no need to go all defensive, didnt mean anything by it. And ok then, especially for you -- > This game wont see a beta in Europe or the US prior to lauch, this due to the fact that they have gotten all their information from asia already regarding server stability, capacity, and ingame probs + bugs.

I thought ncSoft itself said they wont do this, altho I hope they do ofcourse. I'ts always a bit more reassuring playing a game before buying it =p.

im not 100% on this but i think i remember seeing a video about them doing this for aion. like they did for guild wars. i could be wrong but im pretty sure they are going to. good PR and lets ppl try the game but not play enuff of it to find flaws in it or even get bored of it. i know in many games i have tested. i have beta'ed them and gotten bored of the game while in beta. this way gives ppl a taste but will also make them want more and keep comming back. i was impressed that they thought of this idea with guild wars i know this made alot of ppl buy the game. cause it's enuff to see if you like the game but not enuff to let you see the whole picture. cant give the ending away before the movie even starts ya know

oh, boo. I had seen plenty of suggestion this was coming out in May... but I guess not then. Ho hum. Sigh. Since quitting Warhammer I really miss having an MMO.

i just watched this video and wow, that game is PACKED with new stuff. Im trying not to get too siked because if i over anticipate i won't like the game as much but still, it's gonna be awesome =P.

you guys are setting your selfs up for a let down about this game comming out in may. i dont think i have ever seen a game come out early 99% of games get pushed back at least once. prepare for the worst pray for the best
