Hello fellow Vanadielians or whatever you wanna call it, lol. I have a small problem, i have game with all current expansions installed on my PC as well as my XBox 360. I have been away from this game for months now but deciding to come back for a bit. So i been logging onto game on my PC with no problems. But id sort of rather want to be playing on my 40inch samsung hdtv and sitting on my couch. So yesterday i pop in FFXI pack disc that came with original FFXI, Zilart, CoP and ToAU.  Launch game then a few seconds later, which it doesnt even get to the Playonline login screen, a message comes up saying, "Could not launch game, please redownload game." So i looked under bottom of disc and saw it was a bit scratched so thought that was the reason. So now i pop in the newest expansion WoG disc into my XBox 360, hit launch and what do you know? Same error message.

Does anyone know the cause of this or know how to fix it? I have always played FFXI on my XBox for years before i left a few months ago. Or could the problem be because i sent in my XBox for repairs because of the Red Rings of Death? although i didnt even send my 120gb hard drive..i sent just the system itself...with no power cords, video cards either. And lastly every other game loads fine.

 i remember somthing like this happening while i was still playing. and i think you got the same thing.

it says to reinstall playonline view you need to do that and you wont loose anything of importance, your character, loggin info etc should still all be good, just as long as there wasnt a patch that stopped that from happening.

But im pretty sure nothings happend in the last couple months to make that not happen. Just re-install and etc etc

just mkae sure your account is paid for and active.

yes i have always kept my accounta ctive since i left. but you say it says to "reinstall playonline" ....that doesnt even come up ...this is what i see when i hit launch on Xbox 360 dashboard.......   wspentertainment.com/pics/ff11/misc/ff11360error.jpg

Well you could always do what the message is saying and redownload and/or reinstall the game!  Did you delete the game data from the HD and forget you did?

I would do a clean reinstall also.  The horror in the update I am sorry I had to say that.  Watch a movie or better yet start it before you leave for work and when you come home all done :)

Do you really need 2 copies of the same game...

You already have PC version with all expansions.

Why not just buy a HDMI cable that you can connect  from the PC to the Tv?

From it sounds like..your 360 is unable to read your games..? Have your tried playing other games? Do they work?

If not...better call support.
