Man, as great as the content of that post was, Tasos speaks like a complete and utter A$$hole.

It sounded like he was telling anyone that thought they had been double billed that they were an idiot and there was no way anything was ever his company's fault.

What epic potential DFO has is not so much in it's visual tech (obviously MO kills it in graphics) but in it's server performance. No other mmo has tried to form a community in a traditional world emulation like this before (or has come close...with all DFO's faults it is coming close). An online society of 10k+ players at once is going to create some unique gaming experiences.

O'really?

That game is massively short of massive multiplayer online roleplaying game. It is a mmo and not a mmorpg. Huge diffence in genre even though people tend to throw everything under 'mmo' now.

You sir, are incorrect.

In fact, its more of an RPG, more of a twitch based combat, and has more features than Darkfall.

Damn!

That looks a hundred times better then Darkfall, whats the catch?? And why isnt more companys doing MMORPGs with those features?

The catch is is $OE bullshit, you don't want to deal with those criminals after the NGE do you ?

Yeah, because Avertine and Tasos are so much more reliable and trustworthy than soe.  Its not like they promise things and don't deliver or make outrageous claims that aren't true...oh wait....

You need several (dozens) of anger management courses if you get offended by that.

There are many individuals that try to read "tone" into other people's posts. The problem is, that in most cases, they are simply creating their own fantasy version of what the actual tone was and in most cases, end up completely missing the mark.

I've been following the darkfall saga for a few months on these boards-- it's been quite entertaining. But I've only posted on it twice. Once to make a quip that you don't need to personally experience something to make a personal judgement on it. And another to say, in effect, that tasos should never be near the mouth piece of any company.

I do hiring for a major company and I've hired a few people in the PR department. All I'll say is that any of them would be instantly fired if they said: 'The "double billing" never happened; you're lying. And if it did happen, it's your fault.'. It's insulting to paying and off-putting to potential customers, whether the situation is the company's fault or not.

What he should have said is something to the effect of: 'We have had reports of double billing and other account irregularities. We are looking into them at this time. But be assured that if have been over charged you will be reimbursed as soon as possible.' Or something like that-- since I'm not PR...

Ignoring the usual troll posts, PS was (is) an awesome game.

Main problem was simple though, why pay for the privaledge to play a mmofps when there are loads of really good fps you can play for free and easily as good ones on consoles?

The other problem was that because it was 100% pvp, the game became very repetitive and players soon got bored.

This being said, I recall having 300+ v 300+ base sieges where, while a bit laggy, it was pretty much playable. For me it's easily the best large-scale pvp in any mmo released to date. Even now nothing comes close to the adrenalin rush of a 5-gal base drop or rolling a cavalry charge of countless vehicles into a base courtyard or a MAX rush with a hudred armoured soldiers streaming out onto the field trying to hit the backdoor before they get cut to ribbons.

Awesome :)
