Player character models may not appeal to the majority of MMO community. People can chose between 2 races Human and Daevai. While both offer unique feel to the game, non can satisfy the verity offered by other major MMORPG labels. Even though players have the ability to chose between 3 body sculptures for each race e.g. slim, normal and "bodybuilder", non of them offer true feel of "me" as a person playing the "game" as an imaginary world.

Almost every game has limitations about the char bodys, for ex: WoW has a predetermined body for each race,

AoC has a variety of all muscular body types and gigantic boobs in females, none of them can  really feel like a true nowadays person,

Lotro also has the same predetermined bodys with just a bit of tweaking on the size of shoulders and belly.

Almost every game have its limitations and character styles and even if i havent played this game yet i can see it has a rather unique sense of style that will certainly make us know a spellborn character when we see it in an image.

Playing: Aion, World of Warcraft, Dragon Age Origins
Waiting for: Star Wars: The Old Republic, Mass Effect 2, Final Fantasy XIV

The game wasn't designed to be "Lets be like everyone else and pile a crapton of high fantasy races and cliche classes to make our game popular!" There are two races available because there are two races in the lore that make sense for it. Simple as that. If you have to be able to play a pandaren double-hobbit, then maybe this game isn't for you. Not having a massive pantheon of races doesn't mean it's poor design, it just your opinion. You're entitled to that, but don't go making threads trying to convince everyone else that "this is wrong because this is how it's supposed to be." The idea that things are supposed to be "a certain way" to be good is how we ended up with a million WoW clones. Personally, it's about time a game like this came along, as it's finally some change and self thinking amongst an ocean of cash-ins.

Someone actually put some care and thought into making a virtual world for once, here's hoping it doesn't get spoiled by a community that is now horribly afraid of change.

Amen man couldn't have said it better myself.  You sir win this thread.  You can see that both care and a great deal of thought went into making this game from the moment u start the tutorial.  As for the last line in your post, that is precisely why I hardly come to this site anymore.  EVERY SINGLE MMO, even wow which has over 11 million people playing it, has been a total and complete failure according to this damn site.  Its rather sad.

Best gaming experience I have ever had  was Asheron's Call.  It only had humans....that's it. If I had the same opinion as yours I would have missed out entirely and went to some scrub game like EQ.

you cant believe how relieved i am that tcos doesnt ask me if i want to be elf, dwarf or human at start

imho they could have even kicked out the daevi.

their char models are pretty ok, the coloring and clorhing options are pretty good. if you log into the server youll see more unique looking players then lets say in warhammer since theres no limitation towards what armor/ weapon your class can wear.
