If they advertised Pong as having housing, and I had not yet purchased the game, why would I be angry and hateful? I'd simply NOT purchase the game, lol.
It is good you said "hate", because that's exactly what this is. It isn't just a difference of opinion or "if they'd just implement this, the game would be so much enjoyable", or even them posting critical in an attempt to make the game better.

Impressive numbers of attackers. And thats its really.
Sorry guys but given AV still got their wonderfully long and*misleading* list of features on there website, even the numbers in this video does not make up for the lies around this game. Impressive number of people though. Paves the way for a company with some integrity to produce a more deep and truthful MMO. |

Name some MMOs where you cannot swim in Heavy Armor. If you can name three, you win.

I was at this fight on the defending side. Trust me there were defenders... but we were outnumbered something like 5:1.
It was CotP and VG vs The Hyperion Alliance
We had roughly 60-80 people Hyperion had roughly 250-300 people. It's kind of hard to judge the exact numbers though.
There was also an attack from a seperate alliance on CotP's city nearly at the same time with another 60-80 attackers. So we had to defend both cities. VG's alliance most definately did not bail on them, we were simply outnumbered and also had to defend our own city. A few other guilds did show up such as AGONY, Covenant of the Swords, Covert Operarions, and KGB to assist.
It was an interesting night that's for sure, considering the battle lasted from 12:00am until 6:00am on a weekday...

I like darkfall. I betatested it for a few months, and I don`t mind that a PvE player dislike Darkfall. The problem with the trolls is that I don`t know what mmo they like or play. Just look at the posting history of Jimmyman99, 190 of his last 200 post in here is flaming Darkfall. This is what I know of his mmo career. "WoW is great and all, but I believe its time to raise a bar a little bit." http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/2560406#2560406
And his newbie EVE playing. "I was stuck doing missions in 0.5 or above, mining or hunting in the same area. Couple of times i dared to go into 0.4 or lower and half the time people tried to get a lock on me - so I ran :( The question is, could any1 recommend me a corp that is large enough to control territory in low sec space, but not currently at war with half of the world and still accepting new members? I want to go through 0.4 and lower PvE first before I start PvPing (if ever)." http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/2582338#2582338
This is the guy who gives advice in a FFA full-loot pvp mmo, and he might not even PvP in EvE. Atleast he doesn`t hide behind numerous alts as the rest of the troll does. I do understand why they make alts, because almost all of them would never touch a pvp mmo. |

There are actual DF fan trolls, I've seen them running into forums like Aion bashing that before release. But again, you could pop history on these guys and see they were an actual trollfan with over a couple hundred posts backing DF.

Honestly I hate this game but ...
This video looked really good, except the melee combat (bad animation)

Originally posted by popinjay the problem is, even if a person have made the most thought-out post in the history of manking, some of the fans of darkfall will attack that post if its not a blind praise of the game. any post with criticism (constructive or not) will be trolled by the same fan indivivuals who cant see any flaws in the game.

Wow sounds like so much fun, outnumbered 5 to 1 and it took the attackers over 6 hours to defeat you? That is some really broken game mechanics. 5 to 1 numerical advantage even in real life they should have rolled over you especially since the cities DON'T HAVE FRIGGING GATES so how did you keep them out? |

I guess it is just human nature to exaggerate when losing, there is no way to hold against bigger army if city has no gates, so it seems it was like 2:1 at best. Only other way i see to hold your ground in 5:1 is that those outnumbered was supreme macroers and played 24/7 for weeks, so now their are pretty strong...

So in a "skill" based game they are basically a higher LEVEL then the attackers so they could defend better. Works for me since "skill based" is just another way to hide leveling up, in fact the 5 levels in this game....0-24, 25-49, 50-74, 75-99, 100. |

No kidding. These RPG fanbois obviously missed every awesome MMO and strategic FPS that has came out over the last 15 years. This battle here was nothing but a zerg, cookie cutter characters all using the same weapon with nothing cool ever taking place. A trained monkey could have been useful in that fight. |

/sigh The siege timer is 6 hours. It's there so that instant city destruction can't take place. I mean, you can always go in and kill everyone, but you can't take over a city just willy nilly on the spot. So, the attackers initiate the siege, and then there is a phase where the attackers' city is vulnerable to destruction for 3 hours. Once that time is over, the defender's city becomes vulnerable to destruction for 3 hours. It takes most of those three hours to destroy a city at the moment, since all anyone is using are siege hammers... once people get warhulks, it's gonna be another story. _______________________________________________ The noob formally not known as not being the formally not unkown known APEist; The Stone Cold Killer of Tarq. |

No it wasn't 5 to 1. Just 3 to 1 (I'm a VG member). And they couldn't beat us faster on account of some game mechanics. Alas AV have changed things since so if that siege would happen right now it could result much worse consequences for us. Hope we are now more prepared though... |

sounds to me like you're both talking about WOW.
WOW has boxes for heads and gameplay that essentially consists of picking up sticks while some guy keeps throwing more sticks on the ground. everybody ends up with the exact same armour & weapon sets until they get dumped with more sticks to pick up at which point all their current shit is worthless. hmmm... great game.....
doesn't seem to affect its popularity nor people's "enjoyment" of it...
