Haha, what? UO, SB, AC:DT had top of the line graphics for their time? ROFL. You clearly must have been still pooping your underwear at the time and not have any clue about games and graphics then lol.
UO = September 25, 1997. AC = November 2, 1999. Don't blame your ignorance on others, and get all butt-hurt.

Now go back to some of the DAOC or EVE battle footage and do the same thing....surprise hundreds of avatars in frame. They are just trying to convince themselves that they have something that has never been done before which is patently untrue. Either that or they are being told to post these comments when they get their paychecks from Aventurine for shilling and failboi trolling..

More people have been killed in one orbital strike in plantside, than appear in any battle of darkfall.

I was expecting large number of people from all the things said in start of the thread. I only counted about 20 in the original calvary at the start of the vid..with maybe 20 on the other side? your looking at perhaps 40 people total. Thats not very many. In warhammer you could get battles up to 100 v 100 +. the game did start to lag a bit and settings had to be turned down but it was still playable.
When I hear huge battles I think of 200 v 200 + type things and would be impressed. Anything under 100 v 100 is just a small to medium sized battle. On the other hand once battles get above 50 v 50 they generally degenerate into complete choas anyways. |

It is cause themeparks stuck in "x number per instance supported" ..so there is a max amount of x players allowed wheras DarkFall supports battles of any size .. So does EVE and DAOC, and they have been doing it for a few years now. Just sayin. ![]() |

I wanna be part of that amalgamated mass of kickass... As for the DF video, that was funny. Riding animations are hilarious, sorry. Bucking Broncos all day baby! |

Originally posted by Kshahdoo LOl i already mentioned how pathetic the game was going to become ,allowing everyone to have mounts.I know the little WOW kiddies love their mounts but that proved how UNREALISTIC and ridiculous the game has become. As soon as i saw EVERY single player on a mount i turned the video off, that is not anything close to a realistic battle/combat game design. There is no way a COMBAT design would have 100% on mounts lmao it is so pathetic it is not funny and is a FAIL.Maybe they should have went one further and become AION II and have everyone flying?how about everyone using jet packs?oh ya can't do jetpacks because it would be unrealistic ?oh wait 100% on mounts is unrealistic! pfft . BTW i would have watched the video to the end, just for entertainment value, but like i said 100% mounts=turned off instantly.

not sure why people are getting hung up on numbers - beyond a certain point, it's just a clusterfuck anyway. Darkfall has shown it can easily support "big" battles and that's enough for me. their decision to go with low-poly character models & gameplay over shiny bling and shallow/instanced PVP has been totally vindicated.

yikes. When you're done 'sperging out, we can talk about the game and realize that having an excess of people mounted is a pretty bad way to fight, and you're muuuch more likely to kill your mates than anyone on foot. Also, most of the video features foot combat. People ride on horses to get places quickly?!! Unrealistic! |

Looks pretty good! Too bad the launch was, and is, a disaster; it's very hard to live down a bad launch. They should have been prepared. |

Woaw... Started playing EvE seriously a month ago... Cant wait to be part of 0.0 fleet battles :) The rules of Debate are really simple; once you have to stoop to insults instead of facts, logic, or reason to try and win your argument, you've lost. |

Soo massive nowadays means 20-30 vs 20-30 ... good to know, wonder what u would call the WG WoW battles or EVE online fleet battles, somewhere around godlike legendary... |

actually they are kinda boring & laggy... you focus fire them, they focus fire you, you activate modules and hope they will get activated before you're already in hull or a pod, whoever brings more falcons wins. that's after an hour or 2 of warping from system to system playing cat & mouse or camping a gate. the winner is effectively pre-determined by who has which ships, and at what range the engagement takes place.
if we are talking mass battles specifically, Darkfall's mass combat is WAY more exciting than EVE's fleet battles. it is cool seeing a whole armada of ships in the same place though, especially if there are capital ships also involved.
don't get me wrong, i love eve, i still have an active sub, though i am still playing DF exclusively (DF has even replaced my need for an FPS as well as my MMO needs, lol). eve is at its best in the smaller engagements IMO. |
