Between you, you have thoroughly confused me. I don't know whether I should invest immediately in this game at once or avoid it completely. My budget, as a student coming out of debt, is very limited so I can't afford to buy and subscribe a game without being sure there's a good chance I will enjoy it. However everyone, from the big, authoritative gamesite reviewers to the smallest forum lurkers, seems to be divided in their opinions. It's either the greatest sandbox game with a diamond-sharpened PVP edge - or else it's a gigantically clunky turd that drives you mad through tedium or rage. Well, let the war continue. I'll come back in a month, say, and can the last suyriving fan - or troll - tell me whether the game was a success or not? |

Uh...taking fair advice from trolls and fanbois kinda defeats the purpose of "fair". When it comes to MMORPGS, the only way to determine whether you'll like it is to try it. Besides things from surefire facts (full-loot, FFA PVP, graphics style, etc.) you have to experience it first hand to really know. Listening from trolls and fanbois will only make you more confused. |

If you ignore the rhetoric and the emotion based outbursts you will find posts that provide fairly detailed analysis of AV and how they are preforming and of DF and what is the current state of play. It seems pretty crystal clear how things currently stand. Mind you I played beta so kind of know what DF is all about. You can skim look for lengthier posts with paragraphs, decent grammar etc. The truth is out there and its kind of ugly. |

If your budget is very limited, wait for a TRIAL. |

OP the best i can suggest is .. get you in Clan first.. search for a Clan that suits you.. You will not find here the information cause this is not a commuity site. Clans have people in game can provide you with screenshots/videos, guides and all of the sort and give you honest impressions..

All the reviews huh? I make stuff up too, when I was 5. Game is "sold out" because they can't even put ten thousand on the one buggy server they have. Sold out, haha, sure technically, you only have a few spots, they'll sell out I guess. This is a negative. Members as of this second at Forumfall: 341,453 - lets see some evidence of 5k/week signing up? Whats that? Oh another exaggeration / lie. Members of MMORPG.com: 1,011,786. That's funny, you talking about truth. "nerf rock, paper is working as intended." - Scissors. |

Unless 50$ is nothing to you you should NEVER buy a game before trial or the first 2 months. WIth df you might have to wait a year or more, the devs are patching but are too ashamed of how they fuc*** up to show the player the patch notes. THe game can be hacked without luch pain. THe main guilds have tons of gold stacked up obtained via exploits... I'm not a no life that sits in front of his computer all day long, I'm an intern that sits in front of his computer all day long. |

Lets face it, MMOs today are turning into single player console games with a chat box included. |

continually sold out? Sir I must call you out on a statement that misleading. The truth of the matter is DF has staggered its release because regardless of the AI bots they said they had testing it, it wasnt ever stress tested properly. As far as having more people on their site than this one, well when I logged in today I saw at the top of the MMORPG.COM page that it has well over a million members. And growing by 5k a week is also a misnomer as again, with a staggered paid beta model theyre going for, they really limited access. The truth is ugly, so ugly in fact that you, like most hurting fans, twisted the truth to fit your argument. |

If money is a serious issue then I would look at F2P games to be honest.......As far as Darkfall goes, there are alot of vids on youtube and you can make your own decisions......It seems like alot of the newer games you cant get a good read on whether to buy or not....... |

I guess the true undeniably objective test for this game will be when they'll have to release a content patch or expansion to prove that their game is worthy of a monthly fee. The rules of Debate are really simple; once you have to stoop to insults instead of facts, logic, or reason to try and win your argument, you've lost. |

I would also agree in that you need to wait for a free-trial if funds are so tight.

Hmm... after reading what you posted above someone might think that DarkFall was one of the biggest, best, and fastest selling MMOs of all time. I wonder how that matches with the Truth?
The Truth is that DarkFall is the SMALLEST MMO Release ever. Heh... kinda funny how the Truth is so much different than the fans spin.
I'd love to be proven wrong on this one. To do so, all you have to do is produce a link to any other MMO that launched with smaller numbers. I'll check back. |

so you agree they are continually sold out? that, sir, is a factually correct statement. yes we all know the initial release was small by today's standards but then so was their devel budget. regardless, they ARE sold out, get over it. also i said "the official forums have more people online than the whole of mmorpg.com" - here's a clue - the key word was ONLINE, which as of now is 212 members + 1200 guests ONLINE. as of right now, DF official forums have 3667 (1392 members and 2275 guests) ONLINE, more than double the whole of mmorpg.com. as for 5K/week, in late Oct 2008, prior to beta announcement, there were 70K members on the DF forums, now there is over 360K. that's 290K new accounts in 5 months, or 60K new accounts per month on average, which is an average of 12-15K new accounts per week. The actual observed rate has been a sustained 5K+ per week for at least the last 2 months i have been tracking the numbers. fact is, there is massive demand for the game.
as for the truth being ugly -- the real truth is that DF is doing really really well looking at the numbers. there are also plenty of good quality reviews around that verify the game is in fact, also good, which it is. Darkfall is more than fine.

Are you intentionally trying to mislead people? Aventurine is doing a limited release on purpose, selling less than 1000 accounts each week, because the server can not handle the current amount of players that is on the server already. During prime time, the login queue can reach up to 5 hours. The accounts are only sold out because otherwise this queue would get much longer. |

1000 accs sold per day hahahaha....... the fanbots and there lies lolz |

Don't play with numbers, I'm one of the 290K official forums members, i was really interested in the game. After the release (or paid beta as you prefere) i decided this game it's not for me. I do to know of others like me, be sure not the 290K are trying to buy the game. How many? I don't know... you neither as far as you are not working for AV or got some spies there. Anyway you can call the demand as massive if you want. Really, what is massive? its massive considered in the actual total market of MMORPGs? sure not. Its massive considered the potential demand for FFA PvP full loot sandboxes? may be, but my guess is not. I know of a lot of people that will enjoy a game like this, that has been waiting long for a game like this, but right now they still are in the fence and waiting for free trial or back to L2, EVE, Shadowbane ...

Darkfall is simply the best game ever made. Nothing on the market comes close. |

Javac, you are doing a great disservice to DF with your half truths, misinformation and bringing up non important statistics I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time. |

This is what you said And this is what javac read: There are still 289,999 people still waiting to buy the game
P.s I'm 3 of those numbers btw there are more posts discussing Darkfall than there are people actually playing the useless game |
