I decided to come back to AoC after trying out WAR and WotLK and getting tired of them. I'm trying to decide on a server and need some advice. I never played on a PVP server but I would like to participate in PvE and PvP activity. I know there are some who like to gank others and I know that goes with the territory but I an not one of those types. I prefer to fight someone of equal level in a somewhat fair duel or help a lowbie being ganked by someone of higher level. Any recommendations? |

PVE definitely. If you want some suggestions on servers, you should state if you're US or EU based. |

PVP for sure, AoC is a PVP game by design and those are the servers with the healthiest pops I would imagine. I played on Tyranny and it was a blast. edit: well for you I guess PVE... your dont really duel in AOC, you defend your camp spot, you fight over that named quest mob, theres the gankers and then theres the level 80 kheshetta fighting which is always fun. |

i would suggest PvE, most of the people i know on PvP servers did not have an enjoyable experience especialy at lower levels. but you can just give them both a try and decide for yourself, it will barely take you an hour or so to level up a char on a PvP server to like 10 or 15 and see whats going on for real. |

I recommend the PvE servers Wiccana or Set. It is preferable not to travel with a dead man. |

I live in the US so it would be a US server. |

I will still search and fight the good fight until I find the game to own all games. |

I recommend you to roll on either Set or Wiccana ( PVE ). You can do minigames / Borderkingdoms (pvp-zone) and sieges on a PVE server. After you played on a pve server for sometime, you can always make a alt on a PVP server ;) If you whant to roll on a PVP-server i recommend Cimmeria-rp-pvp. Cimmeria is a RP server, but you dont have to RP if you dont whant to, I heard that Cimmeria has a bit more friendly community then Tyranny-pvp. Good luck ;) ------------------------------

I'll go with either Set or Wiccana. I just would like to the ability to do PvP activity so I can work on my PvP level and get PvP gear. As for characters, I know I will make a DT. As for the mage, rogue, and priest class I haven't made up my mind of them. |

all the fun is on tyranny,AoC is made to kill each other , and I would if anything recommend the PVP RP server and actually trying to be your character in a game world. Tyranny or PVP RP are my suggestions |

It depends on what you want. For me pvp is fun but it's not for everybody.
Community wise, you will always have more douchebags on pvp servers, and thats true for any mmo. People on pve servers behave much better generally.
What you need to know about pvp servers, is that you can kill anybody or be killed by anybody anywhere but in the main towns. That means that you will be ganked while question, fighting mobs, some people will ever try to gank you while you are talking to npcs. But, you can do the same to them. If you can deal with that, go pvp server, some of the most fun fights i had so far playing this game were world pvp.
Cheers. |

As others have suggested I would roll on a PVE server if I were you. I have played on Set for a while and there are plenty of folks to game with there! For me...JUST MY OPINION...the average PVP AOC player is not my crowd. F bombs dropping in global chat all the time and lots of ganking (even with the new rules). For myself, I never liked it but I have heard decent things about Tyranny PVP RP server if you go that route. |

Think the real question is "Are you a chicken or a rooster?" :) |

You are obviously harder than hardcore, BUT remember the real PvP focus at later levels are PvP resource control and Battlekeep control. That is also going on on PvE servers, so PvE could also be an option if people want to converse with the questgivers without getting an hart attack. |
