Well at least the signs are mixed now, other than being all bad.

It's just an update for a couple of screen shots.

With news of people finally getting paid

Rumors of MGM stepping in (see Decoy's claims in the SGWWeekly thread), and the racing sponsorship maybe things are being pulled out of the black hole.

Well the screenshots are a start but they need to do more than that, the last 6 months has been a few screenshots here and there. People want to know what they're doing, what's the state of the next Beta test? When will it be coming?

I'm glad for him but we'd like to know what the state of CME is about staff, from them. Staff are being laid off, I don't believe they have the resources to complete SGW, I'd like them to prove me wrong. In fact I dare them to do so, their information blackout is what allowed this speculation to continue. I believe it's their responsibility to stop it, if they want to or can.

I just feel it's R.I.P SGW right now as there's nothing to say otherwise :(

The bottom line is, it'll either come out or it won't. Seeing an update is nice, and in the plus column. Is it the first of many? or just a break in the silence before more silence? we just don't know.

it don't look good, but i say ANY news is a good thing. yes, give us more, let this be the beginning of the end of the black-out.

i do love how the "no update whatsoever" is an argument for the game being dead, but when it gets updated, it doesn't count towards it not being dead.

cracks me up.

granted, the screen-shot could be a year old. but SOMEONE is doing SOMETHING with the site.

in the plus.

The "new" screen shots they posted are of things that were already in the alpha game back in late 2008 before they shut the game down for more internal testing.

It might be me, but doesn't the "new" screenshots have worse quality then the older ones? I mean the character has more edges instead of roundness.

It's not you, they're low resoloution screen shots that have been jacked up by a graphics program. As to why they did this then released them, who knows? Maybe it's something new and they are yet to finish it? It makes little sense without a DEV explaining it, I believe they were just so desperate to put an end to the complaining and speculation due to their information blackout. They posted the first thing the janitor could find on the comps that wasn't hardcore internet porn!

I personally believe that after all the feedback from the first round of beta testing that went on, they determined that most testers thought of the game as a poor Tabula Rasa clone and are in the process of redoing a bunch of aspects of the game, and no doubt trying to justify this to their publishers.

Of course that might just be my hopes.

Whatever the truth is, the veil of silence shrouding this thing is doing a massive amount of damage. Like Agri said, screen-shots like this without any kind of real information only douses the flames of speculation with gasoline.

It is those flames of speculation that continue to ravage to prospective player base for this game. A SG game is something I never thought I wouldn't be a gung-ho fanori for, but one cannot help but feel the heat even if they are TRYING not to see the smoke.

sgw.weltennet.de/Stargate-Worlds-Video/Stargate-Worlds-Video.html

Instead of starting a new thread, I'm just adding this one in here.  Video compilation of some stuff we've seen before, with a few new tidbits thrown in such as animated character models.

It's a windows media player movie, so if you're using firefox, you'll need to proper plugin.

yes that video is very good. Show how good SGW can be and do you notice that the models in the video seem a lot better then the ones that we had in a screenshot of sg1.

I was happy to see the new stuff in the video. It is of concern to me that these new things are coming from unofficial sources, however. Sadly the potential player base for this game will continue to decline the longer the development company remain silent, especially considering the issues plaguing the business end of this game. Note that I am not speaking about the developers themselves, as they should be working on the game, if they are atm.

I'm looking forward to playing this, if it comes out right. While I live in hope, I have nothing concrete to look to to validate it. That isn't a good thing for the game, and that's my main concern.

In any case, it's nice to see some stuff we haven't seen before. Whether or not it is actually new is debatable since nothing official is going on, that we are able to see.
