Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment is being sued by a company called IO Capital Princess LLC for an unpaid open account. CME, now a part of the larger Firesky organization that is overseeing the development of Stargate Worlds as well as a number of other unannounced projects, seems dogged recently by both financial and PR problems with this newest issue leading to more speculation that the first video game based in the popular Stargate universe is going to be forced to bury their gate. Record of the suit can be sound at www.azcentral.com Cheers, |

Considering how heavily instanced the game was planned on being, it is no loss. |

Trust me.. burying the gate on this game would be the best thing to ever happen to the stargate universe. |

The link that's given really doesn't provide much info, unless I just happened to miss it or something. Also seems like I'm that only one that's kind of lookin forward to this, maybe that's cause I haven't really been paying that close of attention or somethin......... |

I see this as nothing more than another perpetual, perhaps another company can pick up the IP, i would be a shame to see an good franchise go to waste over another Studio that has no idea what they are doing. Ive been saying it for months that something is going on, though the sheep in those officials forums are just that sheep! Cheers, Acidrain |

There are a lot of parallels between Perpetual and this team. I have to agree, odds are long against this game ever being released.

I do not understand a thing. Who is suing them and for what exactly?

I'm assuming it's because of the unpaid wages. If this case wins then SGW will finished. If CME can't even afford to pay their staff, a legal settlement will be the final nail in the coffin. |

IO Capiral Princess LLC has nothing to do with games of any sort, no engine, no wages unpaid, it is a community of small businesses. This doesn't reflect the status of there game or the pockets, aside from there statement of having financial issues. Just google IO Capital Princess LLC and you can see for yourselves. |

Not saying that everyone got paid, but it looks like they have been making good on back pay issues. Click Me. They are a start up company and these things happen. I am holding by my wait and see attitude and if it pans out yay, if not on to the next one. |

Yes they are having problems, that is nothing new. Most of us have known that for a long time now. However, having overcome the back pay issues indicates they got more money from somewhere. Having worked for a few good sized startups I can say that this kind of thing is not all that rare. Granted it is a bad sign, but it does not mean they are dead. Still... I'm only giving this game a 50% chance of every coming out and only a 25% of coming out as a completed product rather then a beta we pay for. |
